So, here its my story. When I started this season started as a barbarian. Geared it, got a few primal ancients (6 if I am not mistaken) and at 980 paragon decided to check on wizards.
As soon got the minimal gear tried to do a GR75 and did it quite easy, yet no primal dropped. Decided to see what was my limit on GR with this wizard (no ancient gear at that time) and made a GR higher than with the barbarian, so decided to invest my time on my wizard.
So this weekend farmed a lot of GRs with him, got almost all the gear ancient and bis stats and I am now 1571 Paragon and no primals at all…
I am starting thinking that the primals wont drop on second chars as I said earlier, not even on the first GR75 dropped…
Am I doing something wrong? Or its just the RNG fooling around with me?
Thanks in advance!
PS. Got last primal on Barb, broke it to choose the last option on altar, since then (4 days) zero drops
Primals are unlocked at GR70 when completed before the timer runs out. NOT 75. 75 just happens to the level that is equal to T16.
Once unlocked during the season, any heroes in that same season, in that same mode, on the same realm can get Primal drops. Just remember that all Primals have a low drop percentage. ~1 in 400 legendaries.
Keep in mind, Seasonal, non-seasonal, then Hardcore seasonal, Hardcore non-seasonal. (that’s 4 different modes you can individually unlock GR70 in in). THEN you have each realm, Americas, EU, Asia, etc.
One time per playing mode Softcore and Hardcore each for a single Account. If you solo’d GR70 for the first time with your Softcore character, that’s all there is to it unless you got lucky again. For Hardcore mode, you have another chance in case you decide to play it but the challenge won’t be easy.
You can also play on the different servers… so all told you can play SC/HC on NA/EU/Asia for a total of 6 slogs thru the Altar. However the season journey is shared across SC/HC but NOT servers so you can only do the season journey three times.
Once unlocked they can drop anywhere if your character is leveled to 70. You can get primals crafting, from Kadala, from reforging, from upgrading rares, as well as from cache’s, world drops, goblins, wherever loot can drop.
They can even drop from any difficulty level, but obviously your chance of drops overall are higher at higher difficulties.
The first one is - in season, after successfully clearing GR70, you are gifted one. Non-season merely unlocks the possibility of getting them in the future which, yes, can happen with any item drop or creation, provided it could normally make an ancient - so, Kadala can give a primal, cube Reforge or Upgrade can, and obviously the new recipe that makes any legendary a primal (of which you can only equip one item made this way.)
