Does Broken Crown Still Drop off Skeleton King for New L20?

In Diablo III, is it still possible to get the Broken Crown as a drop off the skeleton king by being level 20 on a fresh character? I tried 3x so far, and am wondering if perhaps the information I read was outdated.

I think it only applies to Campaign mode; Leoric drops the Leoric’s Crown, Diablo and Malthael drops a guaranteed legendary in Story Mode on your first time killing them. In Adventure Mode, all drops are random regardless of your level and difficulty. No idea if that changed as I don’t tend to play story but don’t remember them reverting it so far.

Hopefuly not since it’s a cursed item and completely trash if i remember correctly.

Yea… fair enough xD. Still worse than every other item you can find… even for Templar is my guess. I actually logged in one day and Leorics crown had been replaced by this item on one of my characters… took me ages to realise why my damage was so bad.

Small misunderstanding from my part…
I thought it was about Leoric’s Crown, but it’s about the Broken Crown…

So…
Broken Crown is useful at the start.
Leoric’s Crown is very useful for the Templar and his skill “Heal”

I guess Leoric’s is also good when levelling up - with a ruby (especially if you’re a slow leveller).

It’s always useful to farm gems for augments. Not just at the start.

I used to at the start of the season, start in campaign mode just to get it really fast. on a Necro it goes really fast. It does help as a new player, just blow though act 1. it doesn’t take very long on normal torment

Also, only in Campaign mode, Leoric Crown is the helmet that is a given from from Skeletal King.

Broken Crown is a random drop. There is a slight chance it will drop from Skeletal King though… Also, Broken Crown is supposed to drop after lvl 20 (well, be worn from lvl 20 upwards, can drop a bit earlier), based on Kadala Gamble Calculator.

nobody mentioned it drops in campaign at any level now. the true test of a players skill is to see how low level you can get your Crown from Leoric drop.
