Do you get worse gears if you consistently run GR below max

10-12. 12 items in total is the hard cap, 10 of which are guaranteed legendaries.

O man, 8-10 is where I go to only speed farming and probably paying more attention to whatever I am listening to in the background than to the game and just die a lot.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions! Really learnt a lot here!

I just got my second primal drop last night…a Rimeheart (first one was a unity ring when I first hit Level 70). I am playing WW Rend Barb and kinda want to make use of Rimeheart in place of my BK or Istvan’s Blade set (have a Ramalandni’s Gift left too so I can add a socket to it). What’s the best weapon to pair with Rimeheart? And actually, take a step back, if Rimeheart is useful in WW Rend barb at all? Please tell me it is silly of me and I should stick with BK or IB if it is indeed the case.

That would be Azurewrath.

Most likely, no. WotW Set only increase WW damage and emphasizes on Rend. Using Rimeheart or trying to use it effectively only would tickle monsters without any kind of serious damage multiplier. No matter how big the damage inflict look, it can not compare or catch up with the damage output you already have. If you want to utilize Rimeheart then you have to go with IK Set, and not WotW.

Interesting…how good is IK these days? I actually have a IK with 5 out 6 of the items being ancient so might worth give that a try I guess! Thanks for the idea!

Correction: game design - in this case, heavy favouritism of group play.

Incredibly the ancient RNG god must be smiling at me today! I just got myself a Primal Corrupted Ashbringer just now! I have been playing almost everyday for the past 4 weeks and today I got two Primals (3 in total so far all these time!)! This is incredible. Any chance Ashbringer could be more useful than Rimeheart for Barbs? If it helps with the decision, my Primal CA has 4044.5 Dmg but 6000% (max) weapon damage.

No! Primals are only “useful” if they are part of one of the possible “builds” for the class (including the season theme etc). These builds can be for bounty runs, nephalem rifts, speed greater rifts, pushing high greater rifts or a specialised role in group play. These builds can be found in places like maxroll, icy veins and youtube videos. (Of course these builds can still be tweaked to your own liking and what you have available to some extent).

Of course you’re always free to make your own, fun experimental build just for the fun of it and if there are some special effects from skills and legendary items you want to test.
Also the Bul-Kathos’s set you’re using now is a decent choice for the Rend WW barb.

It is cool to see someone be so excited about the possibility of using a primal in their build.

But don’t be too hard up on having to use an item just because it is a primal. For fun etc sure, but if it isn’t the item the build requires no crazy quality/rolls will be better. You can have a badly rolled level 30 weapon with your set’s multiplier and will be better than a godly random primal.

I tend to keep all my primals in a season though, until a whole tab is filled up. That keeps some excitement in the experience.

It’s one of the best Enchantress’ items, a Follower oriented one. It doesn’t offer crowd control to disrupt the retroactive resistance against hard crowd control of Elites at high Greater Rift content. Try to not reroll any affixes off from it and use it as it is to see if it fits your playstyle for a while. After you are done just reroll the Strength main stat into Intelligence from one of your alt characters such as a Wizard to give it back to Enchantress.

If you want to use it on your main character, I think you have to turn your face to LoD or a pair of LoN rings. While WotW can use it without a serious drawback, the Skeletons you create will only tickle enemies without any serious buff to their damage, which WotW has no space to develop for.
LoD gem and paired LoN rings, have modifiers for all damage and can make use of the damage over time effects plus make pets somewhat useful. Similarly, IK again can be tweaked into a WW build but that won’t easy.

Rest of the Sets; IK, TLoR and MotE, have serious drawbacks on equipping a 2-hander. As they have to occupy Kanai’s Cube slots and their off-hands with one-handers to be any effective that means a ridiculous amount of efficiency loss on terms of damage output.
All the while WotW and LoD/LoN don’t, yet they still would have some impacts here and there although not as serious. You can easily toss Ambo’s in the Cube and equip that 2-hander for a massive gain in sheet damage which is nice.

But that doesn’t include consumables, right? Gifts, crucibles, and screams can drop in addition to those 12, if memory serves.

I think all items count towards the 12 items. So also the screams and crucibles, just like ramaladni’s.
Will have to check later…

Later → Screams are extra (as said below).

Screams are in addition to the 12, afaik that’s the only exception to the rule. (not counting legendary gems, which also is in addition)

that wasn’t my impression. I thought that they were part of the 12 and that’s what my drops tended to indicate.

Screams are definetly in addition, logged on and checked, got 3 screams and every time I got one I got 13 items.

Thanks for checking. It’s been so long since I played my memory is foggy.
