Do level one socketed items exist?

Does a level one socketed weapon exist in D3?

You could either socket a weapon with a rank 25 gem of ease, or use the Kanai’s cube recipe that uses a rank 25 gem of ease to reduce the level requirement of any item to level 1. So theoretically yes.

No. What I meant was, could a level one socketed item be found?

Ah my bad. In that case, I don’t know as I never had personally found one. However, I suppose a simple way of finding out would be getting a level one weapon and seeing if you could enchant it at the Mystic. If you can, you could check it’s potential affixes it can roll, including sockets.

From a quick google-fu round, it looks like the lowest item level which can have a socket is 15, with reports of the exception being bows which is 17.

He’ll fire ring/amulet?

But you have to be level 61 or higher to collect the machines to craft a hellfire. I’m assuming the OP means getting something right at a level 1 character. Of course, there is nothing to put in the socket since gems don’t start dropping until much later (~level 15 or so, I believe.)

There are no gems that drop at level 1, though, so it is pointless.

No. Stashes are shared. I want to have a 1st level socketed item to socket a red high level gem in it…Royal perfect gem?!

It would be like having a level 70 weapon on a 1st level character.

Well in that case, why bother? Just use the cube to remove level requirement on any item you have.

I am playing a very old version of the game. Ps3 version has been left in the dust.
I like playing on it once in awhile because it is more comfortable on the couch.

The PC version doesn’t have anything in settings to map a console controller.

In that case, I think you are out of luck. Probably the best you can do is wait for a decent yellow to drop, then enchant a socket on it. Yellow weapons should start dropping at pretty low levels if you are lucky.

You can also craft a level 70 weapon and then try to enchant reduced level requirement on it, I think you can have up to 40 levels of reduction, so your character can start using it at level 30.

You can wear hellfire amulet and ring at lvl 1 and both have sockets.

I don’t know if ps3 have it, but if you do, you can use a ramaladni’s gift on any weapon (including lvl 1 white weapon afaik) to add a socket.

No. The cube doesn’t exist on the Ps3 version.

It’s just bounties and rifts. The difficulty only goes up to torment VI.

But the “beast” hunts you at higher levels from the void.

Actually, should swap the two numbers. i.e. reduce up to 30 levels, can be used at level 40.

Weapon? No.

Most items can only get sockets in the teens, because that’s when gems first start dropping. Well, unless you get a low level Gem Hoarder on T1+, they’ll drop Imperial gems right from level 1. But you won’t see your first natural gem drop until at least the teens (and often longer).

Leoric’s Crown is an exception. It’s possible to get a Leoric’s Crown at a low level. it’s a guaranteed drop from your first Skeleton King kill in campaign. When they first added the campaign drop (patch 2.2.0) if you got it below level 18ish it would drop without a socket, but later (patch 2.4.2?) they fixed it so it would drop with a socket as low as level 5. After all, Leoric’s Crown is pretty useless without a socket.

I think that’s the primary exception though. In all other cases for dropped items (not including Hellfire amulet/ring or Gem of Ease) you don’t get sockets until your level is in the teens.

I believe there’s a minimum item level for sockets to show up as an enchanting option.

e.g. this level 5 Scythe does not have socket as an option: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

but this level 15 sword does: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

I was just checking crafted weapons, but there’s no craftable yellow weapons before level 15 (except that level 5 scythe). Someone would have to check dropped weapons between 5 and 15 to narrow down the range better.

You can craft a Wirt’s Leg or any staff of hearding (level 1) after getting the plan and add a socket with a Ramaladni’s gift without using a cube.
