One of the things I miss most about Diablo 2 is the free trade system. Please allow Diablo 4 to be as organic as possible. Don’t impose “Bind on Pickup” or any other loot binding system. If you are opposed to this idea, state your rational in the comments below.
At Blizzcon, Zaven Haroutunian proposed a 3 tiered trade system and asked for feedback:
-
Items that are always tradable
-
Items that can be traded once
-
Items that can’t be traded
I am proposing we get rid of the third class of items. A rare item of mythic quality seems an order of magnitude more valuable if I can trade it away for the red paper clip, or use it in a series of trades to obtain some godly piece I’ve set my sights on.

Trade Once |

If I had to settle for a trade once policy, I propose we establish a system where the trade cap could be raised. Mythic items drop with a trade once policy by default. However this cap could be raised by some other means.
What if we had a bard/merchant class that could perform as a service black market deeds or craft trade contracts. These items could be used to increase the number of times a mythic item can be moved.
In this manner, all loot has the potential of being traded- even if the crafting materials to do so are very rare. Items with a greater trade cap would have higher demand. Blizzard would have influence over the rate at which mythic items move. Finally, let us not forget that the Bard Class might finally get it’s debut!

If not the Bard, “trade cap” could be a weapon affix which could be re-rolled. It could be a rare consumable world drop. It could be a quest reward from a merchant. Perhaps Charsi would like to imbue your weapon with a higher trade cap. Comment below with your ideas.
The bottom line here- don’t restrict trade in Diablo IV. If trade must be regulated, please do it in a way that doesn’t permanently design out the possibility of trading any item in the game.
Ps, hire me already Blizz! #no-shame #c++dev

blizzard designer guy want the most powerful items to be obtained strictly from drop, what so bad about it?
I think it’s not that bad idea, it gives a motivation to be strong and kill the bosses/mobs/whatever on a highest difficulties, to obtain BiS items.

Couldn’t agree more with this post.

Yes lets open trade so after week one i can just buy my gear online at a 3rd Party Site.
Ummm no. Items that cannot be traded is a good idea. I think the top tier gear should be Bind on Pickup. Games about loot hunt. Open up trade too much and you leave yourself open to ppl playing tradechat instead of the actual game. Im ok with Trade but Top Tier stuff Ancient or mythic needs to be BOP so were not flooded with 3rd party. No point killing mobs if its easier to open trade to GG my characters.

Agreed, some items should just be drops

There should be no binding, period. There is no reason with the season resets.

I’ve played PoE alot and bought a powerful gear from the other players with my exalted orbs, i didn’t felt any pleasure. I support his idea of BiS only from drops, sorry.

Disagree. I want to kill monsters and get items I can use. Not play a damn stock market simulator. And God forbid forcing me to interact with other people. There are a lot of us that are tired of forced socializing. If I wanna socialize I go outside.

I bet you felt pretty good finding those exalted orbs…
Nah, I bought them on the web because PoE is Pay2win game.

This is what SSF mode is for.
Lmfao, found your problem. Maybe you’d feel better if you didn’t RMT, just a thought.
My problem? i thought it’s a problem of free trading system lol

Nope, you just defeated the purpose of the game and lost actual money doing so. Congrats.

I defeated? I thought, devs has defeated it by making everything tradeable…

If I’m understanding correctly, loot binding is appealing because it prevents users from buying their way to the top. I get that. However, I am proposing a way for Blizz to influence the rate at which legendaries move in the economy. It’s essentially the best of both worlds.
“Make the mats rare for raising the trade cap on mythics”
On the other hand- I love trading. I get that not everyone does, but I think Blizzard can get behind the idea that trading is a valid way to play the game.
Looks like you’re burning man, let me chill ya a_s_s bruh
The problem is, having trading shifts the drop rates etc towards forced trading, which affects solo players negatively…
