Are we able to name our characters whatever we want in Diablo 4 or do we have to pick something that has not already been chosen, like Diablo Immortal?

D3 allows for duplicate names already so I imagine D4 will also.
And yes it would irk me also.
I haven’t came across such thing in the closed beta so i’d say no. No restriction in names.

Could probably have unique names. Depends on how they structure the leaderboards.
Id say it would be like immortal since the game is a lot alike but they should easily be able to do it like D3. We’ll have to see.
Yea… Please… No unique names. That really turned me off of immortal… That and I don’t play phone games, hate seeing other non-friend players, and overall didn’t like the game.

I imagine it’d be similar to D3 rather than DI. That said we’ll likely have to wait until open beta to find out for sure.
I am trying to remember Beta. I THINK it goes as follows:
Charname-Battletag as a naming scheme where you should be able to have the same char name as someone else because your Btag is unique.
Of course, the usual naming restrictions exist such as not using profanity, masked profanity, sexual terms, illegal drugs/activity, slurs, etc. We also can’t use titles in Blizzard games like Lord, King, Queen and some trademarked names can be off limits as well as lore characters.

The unique character names its laziness and stupidity of database developers. Glad that for D3 was hired good guys rather then for WoW and Immortal
