Please do NOT implement game events, that take place at certain times (like every 3 hours). I have played lots of games in past with similar game events that take place at certain times (for example Worldbosses).
It is just horrible when a game dictates you when and what you have to play. At 6 pm do this. At 7 pm do that. and so on…
But as and adult with little time to play I was barely able to join these game events. No events of course means no progression in game.
So please do NOT implement such time events!
I want to play when I have time for it and when I wanna play. And the game has to support me and my decisions. It must not be the other way around.

To be honest, Personally I prefer that, rather than turbofarming non-stop which is Boring for me.
In other mobile games they fix this by duplicate events in the morning and at night or either open the whole day for 1 week to do dungeons or something special.
A mix between that and farming is the best because alow you to play as much as you want and keep getting rewards

They could do it, if there was multiple servers with different time. One server at 3pm, second at 6 pm, etc.
It would be damn fun if you could jump between the time. From 3 pm server to 6pm, then played could jump back to 3 pm if he wanted.
I agree. These type of events (imo) only work in games like Pokemon go that have a heavy social element built into the game by it’s nature. Diablo isn’t inherently social (it can be social ofc) and arbitrary timed events are likely only used to inflate engagement metrics which is never a good look.
Allready to late. There is the Haunted Carriage and other time based stuff. Even the big stuff Immortals vs Shadows is always on a fixed time period. Or do you mean 1 day or 1 week special events, with special rewards like a lot of mobile games have? Don’t know about this. But could definetly happen.
Diablo Immortal is MMORPG.

But more crucial to the MMO experience is “that the world exists outside of you,” as Chang put it, and much like World of Warcraft, the Diablo Immortal world is a persistent place that marches on with or without you.
Yeah, timed events are bad.
Saw a Rhykker video a while ago on D:I and the game honestly sounds so much worse than I could even have imagined. He seemed to struggle so much to be positive about major parts of the game, despite staying positive about everything Blizzard does is kinda his “thing”.
I’ll go out on a limb and say there will be one server/server cluster that everyone logs into. The game will randomly group people into different layers as needed for areas and events when other players should be together.
There won’t be a server selection like MMOs since this isn’t one.
As Kilometer quoted, Blizzard want to act like it is, even if it is not.
Server selection is not really an MMO thing anyway. It exists in many non-MMOs, just like some MMOs dont use server selection.
They really aren’t acting like D4 is though. If so it would resemble DI more. It resembles PoE in regards to other player interaction way more than any MMO.
I dont think D4 has been mentioned anywhere in the thread.
Oh my bad. I thought I clicked on a D4 thread and just read that comment.
I need a bigger phone.

I just tried to give solution to timed events. If you know the event is in 4 hour, you could “time-travel” to it, and do it now.
Does it really matter? Devs take even ideas from other companies forums. Its kinda foolish to think devs cant take ideas from Overwatch forums for their Diablo.
Maybe Skelos can. He’s the only time traveler on the forum.
N1 bro. Thats not what I expected. I thought my idea is one of the best. Lots of servers running on different time, and player can jump between them.
Nah. If you miss out you miss out. People need to get over these things. It’s OK if you miss out on things from time to time.
Maybe.
It is not good game design though, nor respecting players time.
Just let people do things in their own time. It might take a lot of time, more than people are willing to spend, but that is still immensely better than “you need to show up at 4 AM on Wednesday for this event” or “you need to log in and do daily quests every day otherwise they disappear” etc.
Make events last for a long time (how long is variable, doesn’t make sense to have an Xmas event in June, but it also doesn’t have to only be available a few hours on 25/12), preferably spawnable by the player whenever they want it, make dailies into weeklies or even monthlies and so on.
What the heck you are talking? Bro. I havent missed anything.
Everybody knows how much “forced logs ins” sucks. Games arent meant to be second life, you have to schedule your time with your GFs and friends because of it. Your family and love ones ask you to join but man I gotta join to “timed event”.
Timed events are fine as long players is able to time travel to them.

This is development/feedback phase, dont think everything they say is true.
Your kind of people are exactly the reason why these forums gotta change, because ne-one wants trolls around.
Trolls should be pushed forward YouTubers or Reddit etc.
