They changed the crusader to be a black woman.

But originally she was white like in Diablo 3.

Does this mean all the classes come with multiple skin tones?
Or is the white crusader gone?
I know the Witch Doctor was removed in Immortal so there is no black person representation but i feel like this was an odd choice.

Lol they replaced Renee O’Connor with Naomi Campbell.
Will they pay Naomi royalties for using her face?

According to the Let’s Plays I watched from the Alpha, there are multiple ethnic options for each class.
Wow, that looks really great!
I wish we had multiple ethnic options for our chars in D3 as well.

I didn’t know that, lol. Blizzard really does hate the poor Witch Doctor.
I see that as an answer to weird claims about “appealing China market”. And let’s be honest Naomi is a beautiful woman and Paladin back in Diablo 2 has an ethnic look to him, so not shocking either.
Nice throw back to Diablo 2 Paladin.
I thought all the classes were going to be Asian in Immortal.

I can’t be bothered to even think about any Diablo game except THE NEXT IN THE SERIES (D4). waves hand “kill them, kill them all, the sanctity of this place has been fouled”.
The WD was never in DI. So it couldn’t have been removed.

Yeah because we all know how the Chinese government loves inclusion. You just live in your own world. If anything this wouldn’t be an option. But that doesn’t fit your trolling agenda now does it?.

It’s an option not a change. But apparently reading third post in a very shirt thread is too much to ask of you.

First, is it confirmed the heroes from Diablo immortal are the same as the ones in d3? If they follow the trend of other diablos, probably not. Only the same class.
Secondly, crusaders can be anyone. According to the lore, crusaders travel all over the world in their mission. To become a crusader, one must be chosen and trained by veterans crusaders and eventually they (usually when theirs masters dies) inherity their names.
Third, by what it looks like, there are options about character physical characteristics. You can choose the one you like more.

No, they are different characters.
But you can meet Valla (the female Demon Hunter who is also in HotS) in one of the quests.
Just for us (not U.nited S.tates, us as in we). Chinese version still rocks a beautiful white Crusader female as far as I understand. Not that I care about D:I at all, but its funny to see Activision changing the game to please all the audiences all around the world. It is funny, because all gamers really care about are good and fair games. Not politics.
They could all be green, or red, or cat people and nobody would’ve cared, if the game would be good enough.
This. ^^^
They are not the same exact characters, just classes. My understanding is that there are multiple options.
The number of gamers who get upset at the idea of different race options being in a game is outright pathetic and scary. What the heck is wrong with people?

Oh noes, Black peoples. Lock your doors…
Some of you people need to get out more. Pandemic making ya’ll crazy.
I am hoping the entire franchise will finally give players the option/ability to make their characters look the way they want them to look. No more gender lock, no more race lock.
How anyone could be offended by choice is beyond me.

That’s good to know.
I hate the witch doctor. He makes me nervous. He looks like he has Parkinson’s disease and as a senior I don’t want the reminder.

Why does it even matter what they look like as soon as you gear them out all you see is the armor.

Until a game offends their political sensibilities, or attempts to recognize and address representational inequity. Then “gamers” care an awful lot about politics.
So, too, do folk who are concerned with the fundamentally political nature of technology and entertainment.
The idea that politics can or should be removed from something, anything, especially video games is absurd and childish.

Please tell me why Diablo games should have anything to do with politics in them…
