It has to be a troll. Or if not every item has to be really heavily modified. Like you can enchant it and gem it. They need to have 10-20 different affixes unless target audience is idiots.

They adding more armour slots with PoE 2 or something?

Or, maybe they do not want 12 years olds to be so OP that they just one shot everything. :man_facepalming:

Where have you been for 3+ years. This has been known. 5 armor slots, 2+ weapon slots, 2 ring slots, and 1 amulet slot.

I have been playing WoW and not this 6 button joke.

PoE2 is not going to be 1-2 button 1 shots. Thats where the real ARPG will be. PoE1 first live iteration was more complex than what Blizzard has ever done and will do. Im cool with letting this tired old franchise go. But have fun. D4 will be between D2 and D3 slow Joe mode gaming.

WoW is basically 6 buttons these days.

This isn’t the flex you’re acting like it is, my dude.

It’s funnier that people don’t like the game that have to constantly rag on it instead of just ignoring it as if it makes them look good.

PoE had it’s flaws like 1 or 2 mobs coincidentely placed that require 1 type of dmg to kill otherwise run or be killed. Or 1 shot mobs, again coincidently placed. Not to mention p2w 1 off purchase for end game activities (understandable though).

This place in general seems to have its groups of people that either love or hate the game already and seem unable to grasp differing opinions.

Though it’s funny when somebody rags on Diablo 4 for “only 5 armour slots” but praises PoE when it has… 5 armour slots.

PoE isn’t really more or less deep than what we’ve seen of Diablo 4. At most, it does a few things on the surface that makes it look deeper but it’s mostly just a presentation thing rather than it genuinely being deeper or more complex.

Its not a flex. Playing WoW for 19 years and then returning to check Diablo franchise ends in less than a week. 6 buttons and potion is not for me.

You do realize that WoW is in completely different genre?

The point is that WoW is also simplistic in how most of the classes play too, and gear is even more simplified than D4 is going to be. I guess you technically have more buttons but any idea that it’s got more depth or complexity is mostly superficial.

It’s fair enough to not like Diablo 4. It just seems weird to cite certain issues with the game then talk about playing other games that largely have the same issues.

Just like PoE right? 5 armor slots. You really are making yourself look foolish.

Last time I played WoW, most classes used 2-3 buttons only with maybe a 4th one for a CD skill…

PoE last time I played you used 1 button… (Hopefully the changes in PoE2 will alleviate this with the ability to 6L more than 1 skill thus be able to have more than 1 skill worth using)

Not sure how D4 will use its buttons. Though, most ARPG’s tend to favour 1 button usage (Also, click to move instead of twin-stick controls for some reason) due to how skill boosting typically works (I.e. You invest in gear that boosts 1 skill and so that becomes the only good skill as you have no way to boost anything else up.)

As far as armour slots go, 5 is fine. Seems like they might just be making armour = sets. Potentially using the 2pc/3pc/5pc bonus tiers (Opening up 2pc+3pc mixed builds alongside 5pc full sets)

With the supporting items being jewellery instead of D3 where supporting items are (Mostly) Belts/Bracers and jewellery is just… There…

Besides, in an ARPG gear is infinitely more interesting than in an MMO where your only concern 99.99% of the time is taking whatever has the highest item level/gear score. ARPG’s tend to have loot that can drastically change how your skills work and how you play (On top of the random affixes allowing you to fish for the stats you want)

Depending on your class and spec in Dragonflight some classes have a lot more buttons to press now to the point where people are complaining about button bloat again.

As for the 5 armor slots, I don’t see it being a big deal. Assuming they got rid of bracers and belts?

Diablo 2 and 3 had painfully rough starts, I expect there to be growing pains with 4 as well. But I’m still gonna play it.

  • Characters in Diablo IV will have five armor slots: Helm, Chest, Legs, Boots, and Gloves.

They don’t say anything about jewelry, which can be a separate group on its own.
If you have to include weapon and off-hand to the above then you have to remember 3 slots of jewelry as well. This makes 10 slots of equipment and matches with the screenshots and gameplay footage we saw.

This would do just fine. No idea why they moved away from belt slots this harshly though. They were a key part at holding potions in Diablo 2, reduced to another piece of armor in Diablo 3 and now it’s just gone I guess. What happened?

  • Compared to Diablo III, armor also grants certain amounts of elemental damage and not only physical damage mitigation.

I think this expression is wrong as armor mitigates all types of damage including physical and non-physical in Diablo 3.

  • There will be non-physical resistance penalties at higher world tiers.

We’re going back to Diablo 2 roots I see. At least this would allow them to cap difficulty somewhere.

  • Armor damage mitigation is capped at 85%.
  • In Diablo IV, monsters will also have armor. The development team can make use of this as an additional way of tuning enemies instead of just increasing health.

From these I get the gist that at least combat won’t go crazy fast. I take that as a positive thing. Numbers have to be tweaked in a way to not one-shot player with a wrong move or being under geared.
