Diablo 4 was just delayed

D2R team Vicarious taking over the entire project???

That makes me believe they were planning on a holiday 2022 release of they would have no need to me tion D4 at all.

No, VV is on D2R with some helping with D3 and the rest helping out with D4. Blizzard Irvine is still the dev of D4.

Notice how they tell the investors but not the players. The people who will purchase the game so they can payback the investors.

What’s the point in announcing a delay for something that hasn’t had a hint of a release?

Notice how invertors are the ones actually funding the game development up-front.

Yeah, that’s what investors do.

Who’s money is used to payback the investors, think about it. Without the players they have nothing.

Well, I can only speak for one player, myself, and I really don’t give a flying about getting notified of a delay of something I already had at least 18 months at the earliest away anyway.

Called it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Investors OWN the company, developers are their employees.

They dont report to ā€˜potential customers’. Thats not how the world works.

Yeah, but the investors want to know when their returns will happen. Considering they never gave us a date, there was no need to tell us something was delayed. The investors are expecting progress so this makes sense.

So, they are delaying something with no release date. Ok, that still means nothing. How about they actually give updates on things that actually have a release date or have been released.

As it pertains to D4, I would much rather have them take the time to do the thing right rather than just rush it out to meet some arbitrarily set time line.

Exactly. This info wasn’t really for us since we were never given a release date or even a window. Investors need to be updated on projects. This is basically corporations 101.

They did. They just released DI info.

That’s juicy news, it was actually planned to drop 2022 with Barriga statement ā€œa great yearā€ referring to the release window of D4.

What they need to do now is make an Early Access.

This is bad…because the actual news was Diablo 4 delay indefinitely. Also, the ā€œco-leaderā€ Jean Oneal just quit. In addition, you have to be really stupid to announce a delay when there is no release date…this announcement caused its stocks to lose 10% value.

You know, this really looks like a very unprofessional organization. At this point, blizzard might be better off selling the diablo franchise.
