Your subjective view. And no, my point was to see if pro-free trade people can come up with a good argument, whether they are convincing.
What you kept doing is crying your subjective view is da way, that Blizz has the data, so they know open trade is best for the game. If Blizz has data, how do you know it says open trade is good for the game? (your answer throughout this thread: because my subjective view said so). I’m questioning your whole basis of that by pointing out Blizz decided to go no open trade for D4. If Blizz had the data, it must’ve said no open trade is good for the game. This is just following your logic btw. I don’t necessarily think that.
And now i can say your view is subjectiv even more then my, lets just left yours and my arguments for Blizzard to see and decide what they can do and do they want to.
With trade completely prevented, there are zero players exchanging, and zero data to be monitored.
Now, as monitoring and investigation costs money, that they don’t need to spend at all if they prevent the trades in the first place, please explain and justify why they’d voluntarily spend money they don’t need to, in order to facilitate third-party website transactions involving items in their game.
What if Diablo was like this: No trading, no paragons, no magic (only white) No GR, No Goblins, No secret levels etc. . . ? A restricted game is bad thing. Just look back on D2, trading was great for example Let people have fun. It’s like you playing a Survival game with building restrictions. With only few objects to build. But hey, let’s wait and see how Diablo 4 is going to be. I am not sure either so, hope trading is avaliable
So you only care about what you are saying? Many people still love trading. If they add trading to Diablo 4, would you ragequit and stop play Diablo because of trading?
If they add trading, I certainly wouldn’t cry, but I’d accept that it will be a worse game because of it. Trading enables the possibility of third-party sites for negotiating real money transactions for in-game items. Also, as soon as you’re not just relying on loot you (and the players in your party) get as drops, and now have access to everything that thousands of players have dropped, they have to adjust the drop rates downwards massively, to ensure you can’t just gear yourself in a week and be bored.
Do you remember Diablo 3 vanilla when it still had trading and the AHs? When I hit level 60, legendary and set items could be weeks apart. I don’t think I got my first set piece until a few months after hitting 60. But there were lots of them on the GAH / RMAH because, whilst the drop rates for individuals was awful, when you multiply that up by millions of players, there’s lots of it.
That led to the most effective way of gearing up being auction house sniping, rather than killing mobs. That’s not satisfying. That’s Diablo Excel Edition.
Likely not more so than those who want to have trading.
Which doesn’t mean it is a good idea to have it in the game.
Ragequitting seems unnecessary. But lose interest and stop playing? Probably yeah.
I dont have that many deal breakers for A-RPGs (give me some deep character customization and decent itemization and it goes a long way, for at least giving it a try). But sadly, the issues trading tends to bring with it, is probably one of the deal breakers. I have really tried to like PoE, it does so much right, but I just can’t… End-game feels so hollow due to trading being everything there is.
Hey now, don’t be so dismissive of the fun Excel can offer. I’ve seen certainly formulas more entertaining that D3s auction house
Ofc you can go far in both directions but trading is not to be mixed with going to far, its like saying lets not go to far and give people to breath normaly give them two inhalations per 30 sec not more. What kinda life would that be.
Trading is going too far. It goes directly against the fundamental pillar of what an A-RPG is, and makes that pillar worse. A game about killing stuff, taking their loot and improving your character with it. And then you add a feature that circumvents this. One of the worst ideas ever seen in A-RPGs.
Which is not a small feat in a genre that has seen horrors like D3s set items.
Why would you care about third party sites? You play your game with your friends.Thats not true about vanila drop rates, it could be true if you played 10 minutes per day.
Ok let’s hope they add trading into Diablo 4, bye bye if they do
And let’s all of us other players have fun. One less complainer, makes the game better.
