It’s just a box with some junk, it does not include the game. The game is digital online only.

No Offline Mode = No hard copy. Do you see a physical edition listed in the shop? Try and keep up, next.

No game (or digital copy) in the collector’s edition? Wowzers, that is pretty evil. Nice move Activision/Blizzard.

The physical box days are over. Sorry for us old school gamers.

No more mad dashing to the brink and mortar store to get a copy.
No more lining the game boxes on your shelf.
No more of that ‘feeling’ of having the game box in your hands.
No more being able to bring it to a friend’s house and play in on their computer because your computer died a horrible death by too much gaming.

A sad sad sad day when digital took over. It’s just not the same. Heck, I’d be content with buying a physical box online, but this is the digital age. So, none of that either.

WoW CEs include a game code to activate your expansion license. That’s what people were expecting with a D4 CE. As it stands, it’s $100 for the UE, and another $97 for the CE physical goodies. North of $210 after taxes is just pure unadulterated greed. FWIW, the Dragonflight CE, costing $150ish after tax, included the top tier of the expansion and goodies.

This is just…horrendous. Remember, they’re also monetizing seasons just like in D:I. On top of a full price game. This likely has a lot of people deciding against even preordering the game itself, let alone the collector’s box to go with it. This is poor form to the nth power.

They said “online only”. While that implies digital downloads only, that does not imply not including the game with a collector’s edition/box. Again, see: WoW expansion CEs.
