Diablo 4 or Path of Exile 1&2

Hello, I was a big fan of D1 and D2 and purchased the D3 collectors edition. I thought D3 was terrible. However, around the same time it came out Path of Exile was released. It was and has been amazing.

So much so, that I understand D3 has borrowed on many of POEs innovations. I have seen and read much about D4.

I am eager to Play Diablo Immortal on my Samsung Galaxy, if it ever comes out (it looks like it will be the best mobile game…ever).

But D4 looks like a hard pass for me. Path of Exile has set the bar. The bar use to be D2. Also, the cinematics/story line looked very unappealing to me. I think you guys at Blizzard should circle back with your original Developers and Staff that made Warcraft I, II and D1 and D2 and go back to the drawing board.

If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, people are more excited about remastered games you released 2 decades ago than your original content. I am very excited for Diablo 2 remastered, D4 is a no.

Yeah POE has set the bar for wait time for the queue to allow players to even log on when it starts a new event. Diablo it might be a little lag with getting started in a new season, but not watching your day go by playing nothing. POE offers excessive advertisement of gear to purchase instead of earning. Reductant adventures that repeat every event, why? Want more gear space you can buy it of course they will sell you anything. Is the fighting in POE game play that great, well its ok, and least not stop introducing tons of bugs with new events. Hey the servers crash again, every thing is cool sorta. I get you get use to it eventually. But seriously D1 was OK, D2 was better, D3 was way larger, just dropped the ball with adding expansions and another 1 or two roles. D4 who knows, but graphics wise POE kinda is hokey comparably. I am glad they are not the same, but POE got the worse event start bar none.

Never going to happen. The ones that left already have positions, responsibilities in other places.

Uhhhh…what does that even mean? If you want to distinguish current devs with devs 2 decades ago, do so. Not do so while also not doing so.

And of course people are more excited about D2R than D3 or D4. D2R is a new product that is coming out this year. D4 is not expected for at least couple of years. I’ll make a guess. When D:I is soon to be released, people will be exicted about D:I than D2R (I’m assuming D2R will come out sooner). When D4 is soon to be released, people will be excited about D4 than D:I, D2R.

I am excited for both. But I think I will play D4 more then PoE2.

Diablo is just has a better gameplay loop I think, that said both are awesome it feels good to have different games in this genre to rotate through.

Immortal is basically a port of D3 on mobile.
You don’t really seem to know much about what you’re talking about (that’s assuming you’re candid of course).

It sets nothing. PoE is a very different game for people with a very different mindset.

D4. Will check out PoE2. Have had such a difficult time enjoying PoE. Early on it was just ugly and janky. The hank has been smoothed out a bit, it still ugly, but now I find it just boring and bloated AF. I’ve completed the campaign just once, the season after delve because I’ve always quit well before due to boredom. I really didn’t have it in me to bother doing much more than a map or two before giving up again.

I do like some of the gem changes coming. But let’s be real, it’s going to be more of the exact same. So, much like before, I’ll probably end up getting bored and stop. Uninstall, get the itch reinstall, and try again.

I disagree. It looks better and plays completely different other than being an ARPG where you blast mobs.

The path for overdesigning, sure.

You clearly don’t understand a thing…

Failtroll is fail. 0/10 & flagged.

Elaborate & sophisticated troll threads can’t be spotted as such. OP is trying way too hard, and yet another 0-post sock poppet account of the usual trolls.

POE2 isnt definitely up there for me. Diablo 4, Skull and Bones, Dragon Age 4, Cyberpunk Expansion are definitely my top. Fallout and Witcher TV-show too. Baldurs Gate 3 too. Yeah, isnt Funcom making Dune too.

The D3 forum is full of D3 fanboys.

If you talk about PoE here you might offend someone

Sincerely, a guy who likes both

Eh, in the beginning PoE was an amazing game that gave me what I was missing after D3 was so different from D2. Now it has turned into something else and shows no signs of reigning that all in.

At this point, you are somewhat right in that it kind of took on this more fast paced and complicated form that makes it feel fairly different from other ARPG’s of the genre.

I think D4 and PoE 2 are going into totally different directions. Enough to maybe don’t even compete directly the same player base, plus, I expect the intersection between the two groups of players be higher in this next generation.

PoE 2 is embracing their legacy and doubling down on what makes PoE good, so it looks like, at least for now, they will stay with a full instanced game, high focus on buildings depth, probably endgame, economy and more content. Plus new visuals, effects and dramatic changes on fundamental systems like gems.

On the other hand D4 is shaping up to be very different from other Diablo games in the franchise. Huge focus on multiplayer (not an mmorpg like lost ark, but with things like world bosses and always online multiplayer), it will be a mix of common zones and instanced dungeons, open world with free exploration. We may see the debut of mtx a la PoE in the franchise here too.

So, maybe, there will be more people playing both games than PoE 1 vs D3 ( I play both, they already are different enough for me. Also, the time needed to spend to achieve things are dramatically different between them).

To the guy talking about Ultimatum queue, it wad really bad, long time waiting resets, rollbacks, etc… However, it was not the bar about it, were you here in d3 launch?

Lol, sure people are excited for D2R( me included) but in now way Will it come close to D4, atleast be real man
