Diablo 4 Feedback - gameplay appeal

This is something you can really just toggle on/off

You know this is slightly off topic but the 1st time I played D3 was with a monk and I had gotten a little ways in and couldnt understand why I wasnt doing my damage. I asked my cousin to help me out and he was like do you have a good weapon? I was like uh well im a monk! Im not using a weapon! He then told me how damage worked in d3. I was like huh this is really dumb, just made no sense to me lol.

Were not in D2 anymore toto.

This is my detailed D4 feedback: Diablo IV Feedbacks: Skills, Item, Runewords and more
Personally I still love the idea of charms. As I mentioned in the feedback topic, you may have a 3-slot charm inventory, which you can have one grand charm, or 3 small charms, or one large charm and a small charm.

many games have adaptable UI screens and lots of gameplay options;
-my favorite change would be plenty, even more passives than active skills.

Just leave away this freaking awkward glow, when mobs get hit please!

I agree with you, I was commenting with a friend that I had been a player of the devil 1 and 2 for 10 years and when the three came out I only played it for about 5 months, a shame since I was anxiously waiting for it to come out, seeing that the 4 e jumped with excitement and I wish he would come out and remind me of my childhood

What do you think if you integrate the mobile phone with the game the stash, cube and inventory. An app that will let you access it all even make recipes.

DEAR DIABLO TEAM,
I have watched video after video of the play styles the Diablo series have covered. And something needs to change.
Something you’ve been missing from all three expansions and that is a Support+Caster+Summoner. Let me explain…
I play W.O.W. quite a bit and I have noticed that some people only play that game because they have a support character(s) to play (aka Healers) who take on a niche role. They can also stun, control, dmg on top of healing their group. Diablo has been lacking this quite a bit on a large scale as to attrack people who love this type of style and game play. My suggestion…
…The class you need is a PRIEST. A priest who can mitigate damage to the party through the use of blocking mobs from getting close, fearing large groups for several seconds, putting down rings on the ground where the party takes greatly reduced damage in them from magic or physical attacks. However, they must be able to play alone. Maybe some abilies like:
-Take control of the next 6 enemies you kill for 20minutes:
a) Sacrifice a controlled minion to increase the damange of other minions by 300%
b) Sacrifice a controlled minion to make you immune to damage for 5 seconds
c) Sacrifice a controlled minion to increase the maximum health and mana of your party by 40%
…etc etc while also casting holy fire, using holy water, using different ‘prayers’ for all sorts of effects, summoning Angels to fight by their side for a short while(2-3 types)

Draw on a mix of Paladin, necromancer, Witch Dr., mage while also doing something we’ve NEVER seen before. Something so new we pee with excitement.
DO NOT RELASE 5 OF THE SAME CLASSES/PLAYSTYLE we’ve already seen. Make it new, or just don’t release the game.

We don’t need a dedicated support. Support options within classes are fine.

As an old diablo 2 player, i can just say: blizzard pls change the following:

gameplay speed: it‘s one of the most important things that ppl loved in d2 (fast movement/fast teleporting around etc.)
pls don‘t make the same fault like in d3. the movement from the engine does‘nt feel real and on the point!
difficulty: in the current gameplay it looks like everything dies a lot to fast and the damage from the mobs is ridiculous! change that.
skill system: don‘t make that simple skill system like it was in d3! the current system is a bit different to d3, but the same simple way. let ppl experimenting like it was in d2 or a lot will feel boring after a short period!
endgame: damn, find something like in d2, so that ppl have an aim for a long time
item drops: let awesome items drop rare like it was in d2!
items: find a way without stupid sets, that ppl can play harder difficulties with low items like it was in d2!
hacks/cheats/bots: keep the game clean all the time!
If you care about these points with the current look it has, you will make that game famous again like d2 was!

So basically you want D4 to be a D2 clone.

No and yes!
If there would be a d2 with better graphic and some little upgrades and without mass botting, this game would be alive again.

And no, cuz ppl also want something new after 20 years, but with the same feeling it was in d2. Thats why the comparisson.

And i can also say for sure. If blizzard would let d3 at the point it was with the infernal mode and AH, even making it a bit easier and some simple changes in the AH, many ppl would still play it.

the game is set in another planet. Human history doesn’t really apply the same way.

In a world where people used to be able to have infinite power (nephalem are the predecessors of men), then art, walls and castles would have never had the same function than in our world.

Gameplay appeal - hardly any

The first thing I see is that the scale looks like Gauntlet Legends again instead of D2 or D1 scale. Next, I see an arcade brawler.

I’m a huge D2 fan but I just go back and forth on whether I will even get this game, fortunately there’s plenty of time to decide. Right now, the game looks like hot garbage. D3 replica, why even make a new game.

Basically they want the game to be fun instead of what it looks like it’s going to be. Minute cooldowns, 6 skills to use, regain resources by auto attacking, Gauntlet Legend scale, this looks like a shallow arcade game again; just destroying whatever used to be good about Diablo.

*more speed
*toggle run/walk
*fix the scale
*blocking from D2’
*Remove large cooldowns
*Remove 6 skill cap
*finite skill points
*Remove resoure regenation system and replace
*spammable spells, not too many on cooldowns
*itemization (hard to comment on this one since little is known about it but it’s important ofc, should be aiming for D2)

GET BACK TO D2 ROOTS, you know that game you all forgot about that defined the genre and is still heavily played today. The one that more people play than D3 and yet you all plan to feature the exact systems from D3 in D4.

Yes, I would say Diablo 2 is probably the GOAT and I think Blizzard is making a huge mistake. The new games shouldn’t be called Diablo.

When Diablo 3 was released I was skeptical about some of the things I read but was hyped, this time I won’t be fooled. How are none of the D4 game designers D2 players, I feel like Blizz is just giving D2 fans the . Selling out for console coin.

The D2 fanboys just want D2 again! - Well, yes! Youre right! I don’t want D3 again. After seeing D4 I don’t think that “the developers wanted to create their own game and try something new” flies anymore.

If the D2 fanboys just want D2, they can go play D2. Rumors are swirling about a D2 remaster coming as well. Problem solved.

For those of us who want a new and improved experience, we’ll keep putting suggestions forward for D4. Expecting D4 not to try and be new and improved, but rather to simply go back and copy D2 is not reasonable. No designer would do that. No developer would spend their time and effort to put their name on a copy of someone else’s work. D4 is going to be different.

You’re more than welcome to suggest what you think should be in D4 and what shouldn’t. This forum is here for us to do just that. But do it with the expectation that D4 is going to be its own game and not just D2 with new graphics.

They are copying D3 and D3 was awful, are you present?

Wow, what a solution. How bout you just play Diablo 3 forever.

So it gets a free pass to be D3 again but it can’t be like D2? It looks like a D3 replica.

There’s something that bothers me a lot about Diablo IV.

THAT DAMNED BRIGHTNESS WHICH APPEARS ON THE MOB WHEN IT IS HIT.

I think it disturbs immersion a lot, as well as that glow in monsters when they hover over them.

It is very unpleasant and resembles Diablo 3, if it disappeared it would be much better.

It’s very early in game development. We only have two developer’s blogs and a short Blizzcon 2019 gameplay demo to go on. Saying that D4 is a copy of D3 is unsupported by the evidence we have.

If all you want is to play D2, what’s the problem? Go play it. If you want D2 with better graphics, sit tight. We may find out that it’s coming. I never said I wanted D3 back. You, however, did say you wanted D2. You put words in my mouth to try and create a false equivalence, and it’s a bad strategy to use in debate.

You seem to be caught in this mental mode where the only possibility that you can see as acceptable is to make D4 be D2 all over again. You ask for it specifically, and you can’t seem to grasp the idea that no developer is going to make a brand new game just to give you a copy of a game someone else already created. D4 is NOT going to be D2. D2 is D2. D4 is NOT going to be D3 either (thank God). D3 is D3. D4 will be it’s own game. If you expect otherwise, you’re going to be disappointed.
