Diablo 4 concern

Do you think this game will end up like Diablo 3, Where there is no communication ingame and everyone just speed rushes everything like for example in greater rifts.

They said they were slowing the pace down and it does not have GRs. I am not sure what the speed racers will be running to. It could be like other installments it that some people will just copy what others do because they do not want to put time into it. But I am not sure about speed anymore. Unless they just want to run the same event over and over like a hamster on a treadmill. D4 seems to be good for solo players who like to take it easy, check everything out and interact with the world and lore. Speed racers might be disappointed if D4 does not have leader boards. It will be interesting to see how the look at me syndrome plays out at launch.

When i said speed rushers i mean for the people that in current diablo 3 rus hto every elite pack to finish as fast as possible and dont care about others.

You will always have people who do not care about others it is all about them if you cannot keep up, they do not want you. That is why I mostly run solo. I want to fight everything not run past most everything. It is what they call “being efficient” I call it boring. Many of them do not care about the team they care about self. Find friends that like to play the way you do that way you will never need to be with people who do not care about you.

well, yes and no.

yes communication will devolve into something similar to d3, but not for those reasons. more so because it will have the population of d3 after about 5 weeks.

IKR? Those players who just gotta get to the next floor sooooooooooo fast, yet they pass 5 elite mobs along the way - makes you scratch your head and go “Why do that?”

People will flock and “speed” run whatever gives you the best returns. If its experience then whatever gives you that, if its items then whatever gives you most items.

When there is no economy that will somewhat correct itself and what content people run then everyone will do the same thing when that is figured out.

You cannot legislate human nature. There will be those who care little for slow and deliberate.

Very high probability.

I also wonder about leaderboards, is it just going to be race to 100 - or is there content we clear on max difficulty that sets our “group” above other groups? have they discussed that at all?

It’s going to be your standard AAA game $70 and designed around paid cosmetics. No one will even leave town because the end game is paid cosmetics.

You’re trying too hard.

You have a one-dimensional obsession. We will play the game you can play the forum complaining about cosmetics.

I swear these goons are going to be the first to buy that crap.

You know, it’s interesting about communication. The only game where I still like talking out loud is WoW classic. Mainly because I use a razor tartarus to control my characters in Diablo games. If I want to type on my keyboard, I have to sit up in my chair and reach out for it. It’s kind of a hassle. So I generally don’t say anything unless it’s needed.

Blizzard is a predatory game designer. They were blockchain/NFT bros before it became popular with scammers and desperate investors. “Real life money auction houses”, “Do you guys not have phones”? - Wyatt Cheng

There’s too many of the wrong kind of people attached to these franchises. Our only hope is Microsoft fires the entire studio and gives the IP to Obsidian or some worthy developer who knows how to make full length games with no strings attached.
