Diablo 4: Can we get parry, counter, block spells?

Is there any chance The Diablo 4 Team could seriously consider adding these types of spells?

It would really make PVP more tactical. I think it would really add another dimension to the games battle system in general too.

Parry, counter, block spells that depend on casting timing by the user.

You could shortcut these spells and use them while you’re actively battling!!

PvP in D4 is a selling trick for release. Don’t put hopes on it or you’ll be disappointed.

i don’t think there will be a lot in that regard considering you don’t design skills just for pvp and the core gameplay of diablo isn’t comparable to souls where you actually have time to see and react to telegraphs

You can bring such things, but then the pace in the game and the clarity must also be given and that is in a game like Diablo really hard to basically in PvE almost pointless, because you are constantly fighting quite a lot of monsters and it is not a highlight in the sense as in a single player or MMORPG, but a relative walkthrough…

How should you prepare a valuable access? So that would be a PvP thing and that can be separated from the and that should be separated from the PvE anyway, so that there is no heavy intervention in the respective area.

If Diablo 4 had a pace like D1, it would be more conceivable in PvE, but even there there are too many mobs in the end for it to be conveyed well without drifting into a completely different gameplay direction. In addition, it would come, just by the whole mob masses it never really special, but quickly becomes a burden, or would have to constantly act only as AE and that is somehow too much and puts here a not necessarily nice new template over the free fight.

I’m so seen in an aRPG there not necessarily for it, because it fits hard here, no matter which way I look at it, it does not feel right and brings only heaps of new problems.

I think there could be room for both active counters and block in Diablo 4. Not specifically for PvP, but for both PvE and PvP.
Parry, maybe not, that indicates a pixel-perfect reaction to attacks that doesnt seem viable with Diablos camera angle.

Counter and block could be something like; use skill X, and for 0.25-0.5 seconds if you take dmg, you counter, or block some of the dmg (from a single hit, so not very usable in the middle of a bunch of monsters). With a cost/cooldown of course, so you cant just do it all the time. Maybe make the cost dependent on whether you successfully countered/blocked a hit. If you did, the cost/cooldown is reduced.

On a somewhat similar note; there could, and should, be stuff like interrupts/silence/disarm too.

Now that would be nice.

counterspell feature is bad azz i like it specialy in pvp 1 wizard counter spelling other wizzard while other player bashing him to death :slight_smile: please add disarm weapon ability to mele
