I figured I’d load up the game and play some again after not being on it for a while…
but now it is day 2 of the message
“The Diablo III server is not available at this time. Please try again later.”
It doesn’t matter the time of day.
Did they close down the servers for this game or something? Am I the only one having this issue?
(and yes, i am port forwarded on my router, etc etc etc. Only this game is giving me this message)
EDIT:
I kept troubleshooting and found a solution:
So i had noticed that my xbox also said i somehow had “100% packet loss” even though literally everything else was working normally.
With some searching, i discovered that my particular router model is notorious for having this problem.
My router is a Pace 5268AC.
So it turns out the problem was my model of router…
There were tons of forum posts across various websites due to this problem being drastically common with this specific router.
So i was able to fix my problem by following one of the suggestions. The actions that solved my issue is as follows:
- In the router settings, set the xbox console to DMZ
- hard reset both the console and the router *(see “4.” also)
- Network settings in the xbox should show your console as a public IP address, and the NAT might take a moment to figure itself out and become “OPEN”
*4. (If you have NAT issues, do the hard reset for the router after you’ve applied the DMZ to your console, and after you reset the console.)
It is unfortunate that this model is both common and have this issue no matter your ISP.
