I played Diablo 3 for the first time on Saturday in a while. I updated the game and played for a few hours and everything was fine. I got to a stopping point and I logged off for a while. I went back to play late Saturday night and I can only play a few minutes before the app crashes and sends me back to my desktop.
I have shut the computer down and turned it back on. I have uninstalled the blizzard desktop app and the game and reinstalled. I have checked my computer settings and there should be no reason it is kicking me out of the game on my end. The computer is not overheating and there is no issue with CPU usage or anything like that. I reached out to blizzard and they said to do all the stuff I already did and if that didn’t help, they couldn’t help me. Maybe someone here can help.
Edited to add that I am on a Mac
I don’t know if it makes a difference. But, you know we have a Mac Technical Support Forum? If no one here provides any helpful information, you might want to move this thread there.
Moving Threads
- Click the pencil icon next to the title of your thread.
- Click the “Category” field to bring up a list of Forums.
- Find the proper Forum and select it.

This will move your thread to the selected Forum, including all replies.
Are you using a wireless connection? If so, try connecting with an Ethernet cable if possible.
Some Mac users have been having issues recently. You might want to include which Mac OS you’re running. (I’m not sure if Blizzard has addressed these issues yet. And I’m running Windows 10 64-bit).
Hey I am having the same issues on my computer and with D3 I have do everything you did same thing is still happening but I have a PC not a mac anyone have any clues on a fix?
Please Help if you do. Thanks
First try to check/Verify your installation. In B.Net client, on D3 tab, click the Cog Wheel and select “Scan and Repair”. If it repairs your game and everything works after that, problem solved.
If not, and you by any chance have a Nvidia GPU, older than 50xx series, and you installed latest Nvidia drivers, it is recommended to install (especially for 20x and 40x series) no higher than 566.36 version of drivers, as the later ones introduce instability in the system.
Good luck!
