Diablo 3: Corrupted Data, Scan and Repair won't fix

Scan and Repair says everything is ok. Try to launch and it says there is Corrupted Data. Now what?

Unfortunately, for a great many Mac users, installing or even updating via the Battle.net app isn’t working. Scan and Repair won’t fix the problem because sadly it isn’t a problem that function can fix. The Battle.net platform devs have to fix this on their end. And as there is only a singular Mac savvy programmer allowed to work on Mac projects (and only when it doesn’t interfere with Windows projects), getting a fix for Battle.net isn’t likely to happen for quite some time, especially since that team is separate from the regular games platform dev team. This is one area where compartmentalization shows its downsides.

The best solution right now is to take a flash drive or mobile SSD/HD with at least 64 GB free space (to allow for clean up of files after the download has finished) and have someone else with a working Mac installation with the current patch let you copy their installation so you can take it home and use it on your setup since all you’d have to do is copy their Diablo III folder to where yours currently is, essentially overwriting yours with the one you have on the flash drive.

There are other options such as “installing” Diablo 3 via Apple’s Game Porting Toolkit and then just moving the Diablo III folder to where yours currently is as noted above, but that only applies to M-Series Macs, not the Intel Macs that are having trouble updating or installing.
