Any update on this from Blizzard? It’s getting pretty damn annoying to keep restarting your computer every now and then due to total computer freezes. It does seem like it is AMD related and it doesn’t happen in any other games.
small update.
i have a work around that worked for me.
i played diablo 3 in fullscreen or borderless windowed dont remember anymore and it crashed like i already told.
i thought it was a d3 only thing but it happened in some other games too (Scum, Last Epoch, The Division 2, Grim Dawn)
so i tested a bit and for all games i had no crashes when playing in
Normal Windowed mode.
its weird that i dont have this crashes in GTA V or in Dying Light 2 even after days of playing.
i hope this helps someone till amd fixes their drivers…

It looks like the problem could be related to displayport.
i have tested 2 monitors with 3 different cables and both of my DP ports on my gpu everytime the same problem. now i have pluged my hdmi cable in and it looks like the problem is gone(cant tell for shure without testingf it for a few days but 45 mins ago the game crashed 2 times after 5 minsutes ingame now after 30 min no crash in fullscreen)
but for me thats also only a bad workaround since i only get 144 hz on my monitor instead of the 165 i paid for…

looks like using hdmi didnt solfe the problem. i played 2 1/2 h ours of last epoch today and the same crash happened although i haven’t had a crash over hdmi in the last 2 3 weeks that i’ve been playing diablo 3. looks like playing in windowed mode is the only workaround thas left now. i hope that this gets fixed soon…
hey, i have a similar problem.
i am 5 minutes or so ingame and then the game freezes and my screen gets black, everything else in the background is still working. so i have to restart the pc, i tried several things and nothing helps.
the D3Debug.txt shows houndreds of this fails:
CreateTexture2D() fail - 0, 256, 256, 7, 0, 887A0005
its the same for me im going insane actually playing hardcore pushing 135+ and game freezing randomly the awesome part is is havent lost a char (yet) found a workaround in a reddit forum where when you open then game-> open the taskmanager after rightclick the game → go to details → rightclick the Diablo III64.exe and chose the cores it runs on to only beeing Core 0 and Core 1. i will test it now a bit on a char i can “loose” haha
