Diablo Immortal’s market has a 15% transaction fee that steals real world money each transaction. If a player sells a gem for 640,000 platinum, the maximum possible, they are taxed 15%. If the same player then tries to purchase another 640,000 gem with the proceeds from the sale they have to buy $150 worth of platinum or orbs because of the 15% market fee Blizzard takes from each transaction. This is the only way gems can be transferred between players.
F2P P2W mobile games are highway robbery.
Just stay away from this trash
So don’t buy platinum and your problem goes away. You’re welcome
This is the D3 forum why should we care?
This is the Diablo forum since the rest shut down. You are welcome.
You tell him! He’s a grumpy old man who doesn’t want you D:I whippersnappers on his lawn.
The Blizzard support article says that D:I discussions should be done on reddit.
Since when was a Blizzard support article helpful?
What did that Blizzard’s support article state?
I take it you also consider that the government steals from you in the form of taxes, or the banks for having transactions fees?

It is to prevent people from playing the market. The fees + holding times make it near impossible to get rich from buying low/selling high and what not
Fear not, even FF14 Market board has transaction fee too. It seems this going to be a standard for games with cash shop or trading feature in the future.
So I assume you think roads magically appear and a military’s main purpose is to march in parades.
And you think businesses are there for your sake, not to make money? They provide a service they charge for, you have the option to not use said service, but them getting payed for it is not stealing.
The market fee doesn’t prevent market manipulation at all since you can easily sell above 15% and buy low. Still doesn’t adress the original post.
Diablo Immortal is effectively stealing money from gullible people?! What. That cant be true. Never heard about it before.
Except Diablo 4 apparently… sigh.
(no, D4 should not have trading, but if a game has trading, at least have the smallest amount of sense to also have a trading fee… seriously).
Let’s see what Diablo 4 looks like in 2 years…
I guess I’m playing the cynic and think Immortal is the trajectory D4 will head toward. I hope I’m wrong.
Their both Kargon, without me and the rest of their customer base they go bankrupt. And secondly they make a profit too.
Gotta know your EBITDA…
Whales are getting “taxed”?
No, this is D3 forum, not every Diablo game forum. Did you intentionally ignore the big Diablo 3 logo in the forum index or the very clear “Diablo 3 Forum” reading at the page title?
Just the realist tbh.
The best companies make no money at all so they have no tax to pay. Git gud at accounting.
