Defender of Westmarch shield question

Does anyone know if this shields proc would count as pets?

“Blocks have a chance of summoning a charging wolf that deals 800% - 1000% damage as Physical to all enemies it passes through.”

My guess is not, but figured it might. I just saw it and was curious, but I don’t currently have one to try and test it myself.

To be short:

if I remember correctly, “pets”, can be considered as a real pet when it is summoned by a active or passive skill.
