D3 made enough… it’s part of a series that will very much stay online. It may not receive updates, however i’m sure they will do something special for it before they stop them.
I don’t know of any numbers, you might be right. But I do notice D3 being on top 20 on the Nintendo Eshop, more often than not even now and since I bought the device in 2018. That is very impressive.
I don’t either, but I do know that it took 7 months to sell 12+ million copies, another 2.5 years to reach 30 million and in the last 7 years it climbed to 60+ million. And then you have to factor in that it has had new releases for various consoles in 2013, 2014 and 2018 which surely boosted sales at those times.
The trend over time is quite clearly going down.
Eight to ten week seasons would have been great for D3. 52 Weeks in a year would have meant no crossover if some people had annual RL events etc. if you cant do season journey in 8-10 weeks, well you’re more casual than me and you aint gonna do it in 3-4 months either.
Unfortunately we’re shouting at the wind for D3 as it draws closer to an end with D4 on the horizon. Now D4 seasons if or when that becomes a thing… yeah well we’ll wait and see what the game brings first.
