D4 reported to be in friends and family alpha

Jason Schreier has been one of the reporters who is well-documented to get the inside scoop on Blizzard.

I kinda already assumed this after reports of D4 beta popping up on Blizz launcher, some datamining, and then Rod Ferguson saying the beta was internal only.

But it’s nice to see “positive buzz”.

I thought we already knew that a few months ago.

A better reply might have been:

“I think I might have heard about this a little while ago. None the less, amazing news!! Bring on beta!”

This way comes across as really snarky and downplaying the news a lot of people haven’t heard about…including myself.

And now you know welcome to the party. They made reference to the beta and the alpha comes first. :man_facepalming:

Only because you interpreted as such. I read it as Avalon going, huh, I thought this was mentioned somewhere already.

Correct for you :point_right: :hotdog:

It is not F&F per se, it is “Invite only” for some F&F, but it is not the “Usual F&F”

A very few people were asked to get invited, Maxroll for example and a few “normal” people.

But I can tell, it is not as good, as the Tweet says. Can’t really say much, but dunno. Don’t get hype up to much.

F&F has waves as well. I was in a F&F alpha for Cata when I knew an artist on the game. There weren’t more than a couple hundred at most for the first few weeks. Then more and more came in, the closed alpha invited went out when it shifted then the beta waves.

Regardless, they have internal QA and the development team testing for over a year now as well.

So, it is reasonable to say that Beta would be at Oct/Nov 2022?

Hope you’re correct @EvilGoba.

I’d love to see D4 beta before the new year.

Pretty sure that F&F are invited much earlier, if we’re lucky might even see an early leak of a gameplay or something, but even if there are some reasonable delays, surely hope they’re for good :crossed_fingers:

I doubt it. The fortunates are under NDA. hardly they would risk breaking that just to make us happy.

Yeah this isnt news, but more confirmation is always good.
Now we just need some leaking :stuck_out_tongue:

“Mostly positive” also isn’t the most positive phrase I have ever heard

On Rhykkers stream today they were talking about some gameplay footage that had to be removed.
I did not listen to the entire show, so I am not sure about any details or exactly what it was.

It has probably been in “friends and family” for a while now, with the propensity of individuals to overshare everything with their significant nuclear others, especially as legally speaking, they cannot be compelled to act as witnesses (though they may still choose to provide evidence.) (though they may still choose to provide evidence) should a NDA get broken… so, really, wow, such insight.

When it goes to public anything that will matter much more. Not that I am going to participate, because I will not, but at least then it will be closer to actual gold.
