If the demons come from within the burning hells, should they be impervious to fire damage in D4?
Also, will elemental damage on a weapon have some type of bonus? Let’s say you hit with an axe that has electricity will that have a chance to stun in addition to the base damage. I do not remember them talking about that.

Be careful we’ve been there whit D2, where every demon has fire res or immunity. And that realy divided the D2 community.
No, fire is only one of the factors in Hell, there is also Cold, Poison, Shadow, etc. Soooo many layers to that place…

It seems unusual that a demon that comes from fire can be damaged by fire. Or one that comes from cold can be damaged by cold. It would be interesting if something was standing in water, and you hit the water with electricity that they would take more damage. Make the players think about what they are doing instead of just spamming skills over and over.

They already stated that some weather effects will cause bonuses. When it rains targets will take more damage from electric and cold. I think they also included that such conditions would increase chances of stun (electric) and freeze (cold). I don’t recall it being mentioned specifically, but I suspect that using fire during rain would be less effective as well for obvious reasons.
These elemental synergy effects will work, but I realy would avoid immunities.
While demons originated from the Burning Hells, there’s little mention of them being impervious to fire. In fact, some demons are actually weak to fire (for example, Andariel is known to have a weakness to the element of fire).
That said, there’s certainly demons who possess a high form of resistance to fire, such as Diablo, although he’s not quite immune to it considering how Imperius was able to burn Diablo’s mortal vessel (leah), to which Diablo revealed his true form.
As far as gameplay is concern, I rather immunities not make a return in Diablo 4. Resistances or even High Resistances is fine (up to about 80% imo); in fact I would hope to see some resistant enemies throughout the game.
As far as elemental damange on weapons is concern. There’s little known. In fact we don’t even know if all available elements will have a secondary effect of some kind that enemies can suffer from. Thus far, the only one that’s known is cold being able to freeze enemies, however that’s seemingly available to only sorceresses and rogues via their skills and/or imbuements.

Pretty sure that stun from electric attacks was also mentioned during one of the streams.
Is that what they are calling “weapon buffs” at the end of this clip @8.53?
Does the elemental damage buff the base damage of the weapon?
Because magic fire =/ = regular fire.
Also, if the caster can cast hotter fire, the monster with fire-resistant can be defeated.
Raw power > all.
Even in the real world, fire-resistant items will reduced to ashes if you throw them into sun.

The end of the clip was only showing the visual effects of the buffs.
Let me try this again. If you hit something with the axe and the axe has fire on it, will the enemy be taking two types of damage at the same time (the base damage from the axe AND additional damage from the fire).
Unknown, but likely not, likely it will be all one damage type the Axe damage + whatever bonus from fire and applied as fire damage only. But as far as I know they have not specified that yet.
Which stream was this? As far as I know of, there’s been no mention of weapon elemental effects beyond the visual cues and effects.
I wonder if the barbarian should mix up the elemental damage on the four weapons or will it even matter.
I do not recall them ever talking about elemental damage from weapons, which is unusual considering the weapons will have an elemental visual effect.
During the first BlizzCon when it was initially announced, they had a Dev streaming gameplay with a Sorc and talking about the effects of weather, specifically in the rain. Sadly I don’t have a link to it from that long ago.
I have all the links who was the streamer, if I recall Rhykker asked about it and the answer was not clear.
If I recall (I could be wrong) the answer was one of those “that sounds interesting” answers.

It was not a content creator stream, it was one of the live broadcasts from at the Con itself. I don’t recall which dev, but he was male and asian…
Was it David Kim? I could not understand half of what he was saying.
He said yeah, a lot I could not tell if he was agreeing, of just saying it.
Very well could be, I wasn’t paying attention to the name at the time. Yah, sounds like him.
