what are these red arrows? can we decide to not have them on our screen? ![]()
There are a bunch of those icons throughout. I noticed some that looked like stun indicators. Iām sure we can turn them off in the settings.
redd arrows is for Console, so you know where you aim⦠cant be so hard to figure out since its an xbox show
Like, like, like, like, like. So 5 chars present round the fire now and a release year⦠NICE ONE! looks so much better than any Diablo game so far. So dark. And in 4k.
āIt makes Diablo more of a social experience.ā
What are āThings I donāt play Diablo for?ā Alex.
Probably a skill.
Like Marked for Death or similar.
Otherwise yes, it would be bad.
That could be. At least we dont have to suffer them then.
they are on the screen for different characters
its apparently console controlls
That big bossfight, is that Greed? He carries a chest in a chain, pukes gold and jumps through portals.
I am happy to see that there appears to be no silly d3 monster affixes (laser beams and acid pools everywhere) in this new footage. Hopefully that is the case, or is used very sparingly.
Itās showing the mob you are targeting.
there are sometimes 3 red arrows at once
Maybe for cleave/cone abilities, or maybe enemies currently doing damage to you.
As long as it is just some console nonsense and not something that will be there normally, I am fine with it ![]()
i dont know
itās really kinda random enemies picked in a crowd
What are āthings most people play online multi-player games forā? As much as I prefer D2 out of the series, its lack of āsocial experienceā is a draw back imo, even D3 isnāt too great there either in that department.
Blizzard seems to have given a lot of lip service to the āPlay your wayā concept. They want to give something for everyone. Diablo has long been a heavily single-player franchise. All of the D1, 2, and 3 stories were written for the single adventurer: the lone hero standing against the darkness.
Now, itās trying to change that because with WoW, theyāve realized that the social aspect of things creates a longevity to a game and a reason to keep coming back for years and keep playing, so theyāre pushing it hard for great profitability. (Yes, Iām feeling cynical after the last few weeks of D:I).
But, yes, youāre right. There are players who enjoy that and want to play with their buddies. 25 years ago, Iād have been playing with my buddies in the college dorm the same way, so Iām not going to dump on it. My own resistance to it is based on playing WoW for many years and dumping literal years of my life into playing that game. I just canāt invest my life like that anymore because of RL priorities - and I donāt want to feel forced to.
What I hope is that the devs understand there are those of us who grew up with and enjoy the SSF concept. We want to have our own adventures and our own journeys. We donāt want to be gated out of the end-game gear and builds by endless grinds, Powerball odds, or other such mechanics that force players to group up either for efficiency or access.
The only thing is, is that Blizzard North when they were making their version of Diablo 3 around 2003-05, it was going to be an MMO type of ARPG. So, even the āOGāsā ie BlizzNorth were going to turn the game in that direction anyways.
Regardless, I think they should make the game so it can appeal to both, a more solo driven play style and more social experience which Iām pretty sure theyāve covered that before anyways.
Plans that didnāt come to fruition though. D2 still ended up being largely single player with an end game that was played in multiplayer. Regardless of their intent, they do have a several decade legacy now, and a long-standing set of fan expectations. New IP, you can do what you want, but with an established one, you have to have a certain amount of respect for its roots.
Iām not opposed to MP. Iāve played that way for years. I just want an option to play casually as a single player and not feel like Iām being gated out of the game.
D2 was never going to be that though. D3 was.
Iām sure they all are still there and will remain. It seems like they are cloning D3 combat in every aspect. Unfortunately.
