And?
This shouldn’t be anything new. WoW sells mounts for $20 a pop as well as other crap in their store. Nobody is forcing you to buy these cosmetics.
Blizzard, what the actual hell are you doing? This isn’t a free game, the expacs are not free; you will charge full price. You really know how to piss on everyone’s parade. I’m so done with all this crap, it is nothing shy of pure unadulterated greed. Thanks for giving me one more reason not to support you all anymore. WoW player of 13 years, Diablo player since D2, Overwatch player since launch. I have supported all your games, you all are so vastly anti consumer that it is sickening.
Cosmetics, just like CoD and Destiny 2
Again, you’re not forced to buy it. There’s no upgrades in there. If you wanna look like papa smurf with jolly rancher hair then by all means throw your money at it.
It’s just pure greed, with the, “argument,” that it will help support the game. What about the $60 price tag, and the paid expansions? If it were a free game, it’d be something else, but it’s idiotic to have it in this manner. Best case scenario is that they’ll push a loot box type system in which you can somehow earn them in game. It’s trash regardless.
So, if someone spends thousands of dollars making themselves look like Gumby in leopard pattern loincloth, this somehow affects your gameplay? Call it greed, call it whatever you want. The fact of the matter is, this is a business, not Unicef.
If you do not understand that some of the more premium looks will be exclusive to be paid, you are being intellectually dishonest or are very naive. Why not unlock it by doing a certain achievement? Stop sucking up to a billion dollar company when they shaft you.
Well, I cited both Call of Duty and Destiny 2, which were reported to only have cosmetic only items which ended up impacting gameplay. Activision’s record speaks for itself, and the games that are designed around monetization inevitably suffering quality without a pay wall. But, you’re welcome to dilute yourself all you want, it’s a free country
Never played them, so why don’t you enlighten me. How did a reskin affect your gameplay? You have a red dog? I got a blue dog. Neither of us is affected by the color of the other’s dog.
And apparently buried your head in the sand. They weren’t just cosmetic. Pay-to-win mechanics were implemented after the me and release, and after it had been announced the microtransactions would be cosmetic only. Google is your friend
If it’s p2w, it’s not a cosmetic. You must be part of the same family log as the OP.
Well there are skins which can make the character harder to see, but that is a known thing in many games. Even Overwatch. I play that one a lot, and yeah I tend to choose skins that blend in with the map I’m on better. So… In a small way yes they are right in saying it helps the game, but its not that huge of an impact. Sucky players are still sucky players, no matter what skin they choose.
Now he’s getting it. Let’s give this guy a round of applause
At least for the moment there aren’t any definite signs of PtW in D4. Yet.
Lot of assumptions, but nothing concrete. And from the panels I watched, it doesn’t look like they want to go that route at least.
That doesn’t even make sense…
The OP doesn’t want cosmetics in the game, Blizzard is greedy blah blah blah. Then you come in talking about Destiny 2 and CoD like it has ANY relevance here. You have 6 posts and I bet every one of them is spam.
They’ve said at least 3 times that they’re not selling power. I really don’t understand what the issue is.
People want to make assumptions and/or mislead others.
Ah. So they need to go outside and find a real job. Gotcha.
As I said, Google is your friend, but so am I. So, I will inform you that Activision owns Blizzard as well as Call of Duty and did own Destiny 2 at the time pay to win mechanics were introduced, after initially stating that microtransactions would be cosmetic only.
Since that’s probably not clear enough for you, that means that the people who ultimately make the final decision making for Diablo 4 have a history of saying things will be cosmetic only and then implementing pay-to-win mechanics later. I can draw out a bubble chain if you want. I’ll even color it in for you so you can tell different bubbles apart.
