[D4] Lair scene

If I recall they said that we always start the game in the same location. In the demo it was in an undergrown chamber beneath Scosglen the home of the druids. However, the lair scenes appear to be in different locations. The Barbarian appears to be in Dry Steppes or Kehjista (a desert) and the Rogue appears to be in Haweza. So do you think we will get to pick the location of our lair (home)? Or might we have a lair in each of the locations?

Sorry I do not know how to upload just the photos. It says I cannot do links? If someone would upload the 3 lair scenes you can see that they are total different in different locations. I am not sure what location the Soc is in.

I can attach the other pictures of characters such as lone standing male and female barbarian and rogue pairs, but they have no background.

I get the vibe that game would be an open world until there’s a point of no return in the story line. So it’s not far fetched that each character to have a different start location. Each character can start at their hometown to reach the core of the events which they would find themselves in a chain of disasters. That’d be cool.
Then again, do you know how Diablo 3 shows you the Campaign Act you’re in, at the character select screen? It could be such showcase to view the user interface as well.

Thank you for uploading them all together. I wonder where the Sorceress is at? I remember them saying that our items and look will change depending on which area we are in. I hope that these lairs are not just loading screens but an actual abode.

items look change depends on area automaticly? i think skin of item you find depend on culture of that area

If I’m not mistaken, they said all classes begin at the same location, depending on the region you chose.

My guess about the lair scene is that it’s exactly what it is named : a scene, so just a background. There’s probably a default screen depending on the region; and you may be able to choose more arbitrary ones to your liking, like this cathedral setting that doesn’t seem to match a specific region.

It could also serve as a character select screen, similar to D3, I agree with you.

That’s right. I think that’s what Avalon meant too.
