I’m sure this was discussed before, but just bringing it up again.
The last update showed us that weapons will have some unique inherent characteristics to improve trade-off player choices when gearing up. It’s basically a binary system between 1h x 2h for now. I think this is a simple change that brings positive player choice. Maybe more could be added to further make them more distinct, but overall I like this.
Is there are any plans to do the same with armor pieces as well? At least have some trade-offs like equipping light x heavy armor. For instance, light armor would not give penalties to dodging/mobility versus heavy armor having better raw defense stats, but giving stacking penalties to mobility and dodge. Each body part should be more unique as well. Light boots could improve move speed vs heavy boots improving lower impairment time, for example.
I think devs are trying to compromise having the game being simple to play to any player while giving some complexity to more experience and engaged players. It’s a hard balance to achieve. I think adding lot of simple trade-offs like this could help a lot to achieve this without relying on complex systems. It would be intuitive to new players while giving more trade offs in our choice.
