D4 Item Affixes

The items affixes seem a bit too random, also the crit chance percentages need to be removed. all crit needs to go because then people will just simply stack up on just that gear only and its all everyone will have. Item affixes need to be more universal and not so specific. for example Affix: 30% more damage if health is under XX number (for sorc only) thats crazy.
make it more universal to all classes and simple like Affix: +5 to strength. 20% increased attack speed.

You guys should also make it to where Unique items can roll good affixes and sometimes even better than legendary. Legendary shouldnt be the best items at all times because then thats all people will farm for also and all the other items will just be a waste. also allows for better/more building/customization because now the player has so much gear to work with since it all can be viable to a build of their own uniqueness.

C’mon Blizzard Diablo 4 team. Make it work this time around. We want a DIABLO 4.

Why would you start by saying remove all crit otherwise people will just stack crit? You need stats to do anything with crit so that blows that straight out the window.
Legendaries are not the best items so people won’t be farming for just those.

Crit is fine there just shouldn’t be both crit chance and crit damage because they synergize too well.

As for affixes, I like that they’re trying to be more interesting than just basic stat increases or +X% damage/haste.

Nothing wrong with such an affix tbh. It should obviously not be sorc only however.

Affixes should walk a fine line between not being too specific, but also not too universal.

Like:
+1 Fireball skill is too specific. Only one class and a small subset of builds in that class can use it. It should not exist.
+1 All skills is too universal. It is good for all builds. It is a boring affix. Should not exist.
+1 projectile skills hits a sweet spot. Useful for probably all classes, and many different builds, but not all builds.

Note; +5 strength and 20% attack speed fits too, they are both great affixes. Neither too universal or too specific. As long as Blizzard fix their broken attribute system at least.

But so is “30% more damage if health is under XX” (well, 30% dmg is way way too high of a multiplier, only talking about the mechanism here)

D4 should aim to be more complex, more interesting. Simple stats would go in the wrong direction. Those simple stats should definitely exist. But they should not be the only ones.

Agreed. Though I’d be more worried about uniques being the best at all times. Neither should happen of course.

As for crit; yeah, it is a really dangerous affix. But that is hardly a reason to remove it. It is a reason to be extremely careful with how you add it. it should be low values, and crit dmg should be severely restricted.
