D4 Internal testing has begun. BETA SOON!?

I apparently edited instead of replying.

I try to not have any at all. It’s a waste of energy either way.

Why do you think beta in September?

The last official news that I recall is from Rod Fergusson on July 22. See link below.

He has a long and well established habit of claiming dates and scenarios playing out taken from thin air.

Who cares honestly? They will just give beta to a select few that most likely have never played a blizzard game. They are filth and i am fed up with the sh’t. As a proud buyer of at least 20 diablo2/Lod cd-key over the last 20 years. Diablo 4 looks like f’ing garbage worse then diablo 3 and honestly who cares the game is dead. Why does this topic even have posts nobody going to buy d4 watch. They just just dump 100% of diablos resources in D2 R what little they have left, at least that game isn’t complete trashcan.

Heh. Millions will buy it regardless. It might not be a record breaker, but it will for sure make more money than either of us will ever see.

Since D:I had 30 million installs so far and D3 has had 65 million players, D4 will sell no matter what.

A conservative undetestimate would be 5 miilion copies sold in the first year.

Yeah, buying D2 keys for what, average of 15 bucks at an average of one a year for the past 20 years.

You’re basically keeping Blizzard afloat by your lonesome.

September is a good month to build up the hype. August is too early.

Jfc you are ridiculous. 4 weeks extra isn’t too much to kill hype. Besides, most wouldn’t be participating in testing until 2023 anyways.

This is my thought on the whole Beta thing, and I really don’t have ground to stand on other than seeing a little pattern.

But I feel September may be a good timeframe for us to HEAR about the Beta, because the D4 quarterly update should be coming sometime in Sept/Oct (last year was delayed to Oct, this year may hold to Sept). I feel that might be earliest we would HEAR something, but maybe not play.

As for the Pre-registration on the Site for Beta, I feel that is there to gauge the excitement from the community, but sadly don’t believe us peons will be joining that phase. More than likely, it will be for Social Media Influencers like youtubers and gaming sites to get their hands on and preview information out there. Also, they may get the ability to give out some beta keys to their users, either via a contest or people on their patreon stuff in order to draw more attention to their channels and increase hype. Then maybe a month up to a few days before launch, we will get in at Open beta, when there is no more time to fix issues that may be found. But if someone here gets in, who’s only a normal fan like myself, I’d love to be proven wrong and us all given a chance to give feedback.

Not trying to sound negative, super excited for this game, but been seeing the current trend lately in the gaming landscape, but this only my opinion. I hope I am wrong, but I do think in September/October we will learn more.

If by open beta you mean open for anyone, I really don’t expect more than a weekend or two at the most close to release to stress test things.

Has Blizzard ever done and opennbeta like that before? I’m pretty sure those are rare. There may be more registered players let in but I doubt D4 will have an open beta.

Guardians of Ember, that was experimenting with the same formula as D4, was in open beta for months. I expect open beta in November at best.

Except Blizzard doesn’t really do open betas. So why would a no name game from no name studio inflience Blizzard?

D2R had at least one open beta weekend. Can’t recall any earlier as the newest released Blizzard game I paid any attention to was D3.

Yes, its the only reason i brought it up. WoW had Open beta i was in, 3 days before launch. It really was meant to spread their launch days so servers didn’t die on day one, which they still did. D3 also had an open beta only a few days or weekend before. And then other games from other companies had “Open betas” like a couple weeks to a month, I put it in quotes because it was really more like a demo to get people hands on, they didn’t address any issues people brought up lol.

Thats the only reason I gave my thoughts. If they didn’t, i probably wouldn’t have posted at all.

 Sigh.

2 difficulties sound endlessly better than what D3 is doing of course. But need more info about how it develops as you lvl up.

Well, there you have it.

Well D2R had one about a month before the game had launched.

So if D4 has an open beta, I’d expect it to be similar.

Quite interesting if true

Really bad decision if rares are tradeable. But at least positive if ALL legendaries, uniques, and also gold, is not tradeable.

Others in that thread say that there are UI elements in the clan UI for trading legendary and unique items however. So, eh, probably need more confirmation than random reddit posters

Well at least, you can only trade them limitedly.

Hopefully we hear something about runes and runewords.
