I’m not encouraging anyone to flag you nor would I, nor do I think you should be. I didn’t want anyone to honestly think that the CoC should be taken at face value. It’s so convoluted, it’s basically a meme.
To each their own, but I think the graphics are probably the best the game has to offer.
The gameplay, skills and endgame loop seem to be lacking and very mediocre.
Graphics are, like most things in games, a very individual thing.
If I had to choose between D3 and D4 graphics I think I would pick D3. Of course, I would probably have to see more of D4s areas etc. to really make the conclusion. But D3s style is closer to my preferences.

The colors in D3 is more to my taste as well. But overall visual and graphics of D4 is vastly superior to D3 in my opinion and preference. I think like a lot of people have commented that D4 tried to much to go towards the horror atmosphere that they made the colors a bit too dark and bland. But like you I will withhold judgement until we see the whole finished game. Hopefully they do add more colors.
Because that term is mainly used in a derogatory manner. Also, it is hyperbolic; Lack of cosmetics doesn’t mean we are going to run into political messages inside of the game.
And keep in mind the people who use the term daily are unsufferable blabber mouths that endlessly rant on about not getting their way.
I’d say the lack of cosmetics has more to do with a fear of appealing to “gamer bros”, this did not spontaneously come to fruition, the situation apexed when anime avatars sending rude obnoxious messages on social media en masse spreading intolerance and anti-social behavior.
For every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction, and so from ‘gamer bros’ we are here: [X]
At Blizzard extreme beauty in video games is synonymous with ‘gamer bro’, maybe in a decade or two it will be different but for now this is what it is.

And (from what I have seen at least) in this case, and with D2R, it is just totally absurd complaints. “The amazon looks way too manly and ugly, Blizzard is pandering to the woke crowd”, “Why is the sorceress so ugly”, “Druid is fat”, “Characters look too gender neutral”, and a range of somewhat creative ways of basically saying “Why do we need darker skin tone options, all of them should be white”.
These basically come down to people showing that they believe giving players the choice to be a race other than white and also having female characters who aren’t big breasted super models is somehow a bad thing. And not realising that says something really bad about them.

That is pretty sad to read this. Instead of making everyone happy by giving design 1, design 2, and design 3 option, they decided that everyone should just accept design 2 and everyone who disliked design 2 should feel bad and guilty.

You will never make everyone happy, no matter how many designs you add.
And why do you care exactly? You obviously do not intend to buy or play the game, so why are you wasting your time coming here to complain about it? Go play Lost Ark. This is a fantasy world we’re talking about here, so if character design bugs you nobody really cares. People don’t like the Druid design either, but that isn’t keeping them from playing. Please help me to understand why you feel compelled to bi*ch about a game you wont buy or play?

graphics are the one thing i didnt have many things to whine about. thought it looked great BUT:
1)shadow always behind character no matter the direction youre looking at… that’s weird.
2)a couple spots with textures “fighting for the top layer”. which always looks bad. one was right outside of town.
Graphics look grey and washed out.
I sometimes wonder if I played a different game because it makes no sense to me when people say that.
Well Druid is fat yes, but the rest I just don’t see.
What exactly do you mean by that? Do you feel that they look happy or are you insisting they putt from the rough?

I think no ones perfect and we should let people look how they want. It’s up to Blizzard though obviously. One things for sure in my opinion… no one looks as good as me. You all the way suck. If everyone had this attitude we would all be happy and gay and wouldn’t be insulting peoples gayme life choices.

Anybody whining about how bad characters in a video game look should be required to post a copy of their drivers license photo. I’m sure that would result in quite a few ‘spirited’ threads.

The atmosphere is supposed to be dark, grim, drab. The world is still reeling from an other-worldly extinction level event, 50 years later.

I find the whole thing ridiculous. Pondering it at lengths the other day, I was thinking why would a game company intentionally gimp themselves profits, and also create a product that brings direct scrutiny to the game design - for there is no distraction from it.
I see a game like Genshin Impact and how successful they can tap into every market. Cosmetics are literally the lifeblood when it comes to making money with games. Look at the loot box craze, multi-billion-dollar industry and gacha games for starters.
But then you have Blizzard who handicap themselves, cut their own arms and legs off, it’s so baffling to try make sense of. All the while remember, Blizzard have the most brilliant engine designers and artists in the whole industry.
If someone came to me and said, “let’s make a dark gritty game and make billions of dollars!” I would be like yeah…
It just is so crazy to spend so long making a product, only for the only thing in the product people can focus on is the gameplay, so the entire product hinges on ‘good gameplay’ while those making insane profits aren’t worrying about any of that. This plagues all Blizzard games and it sadly isn’t going to end with D4.
To summarize the whole reason everyone is rabbling on about ‘gameplay’ loops in Blizzard titles? Because there literally is nothing else in the game worth gaming for. Perhaps nobody wants to admit it; sad but true…
that a long post just to imply that genshin has better graphics. i guess everything is subjective.
