For the love of all that is holy, make gold account bound so that it slows down bot spam. Throw the wrench in the 3rd party site farmer sales. It will make the gold sink more meaningful with the respec cost as well, and make skill choices matter a little bit more.
Any farmable resource, whether it’s gold, crafting mats, etc. should be account bound. If there’s a way for black market to monetize something, they will find it.
Do you have proof that it is not allready?
Oh I agree with this 100%, no one has been able to stop that yet. However, I truly feel that Blizzard is making a terrible mistake by not putting (item) free trade in the game. Their “tiered” trade system is not a good idea, and will prevent an economy from growing in the game.
Gold will have gameplay balancing influence, like respec for instance. So allow it to be trade or use a trade currncy will cost issue for sure.
But I have no idea how to fix it other than just have no tarde except passing items, gold to friends & team/clan mates
It appears that the promised internal Diablo 4 beta test is underway, and several purported leaks have already surfaced online which appear to show off glimpses at the upcoming RPG game. While there are plenty of reasons to be wary about leaks from early internal testing – things are quite likely to change, after all – reports that the fantasy game will feature a smart loot system and prevent trading of high-end gear have sparked several discussions.
The video footage which appeared on Reddit showing the game’s character creation menus was quickly taken down again, presumably as it appeared to show a unique version code which could be easily traced back to the person responsible. However, another source reported that unique, set, and legendary equipment as well as gold cannot be traded, with limited trading available on lower-tier items.
Got that from a site I can’t link pcgamesn just Google diablo 4 trading
Yeah, that should be the fix. Make everything account bound. Except items having a 2 hour trade window within the group present when they dropped.
And also important imo, make all non-gold currencies Bound on Character. Like ND sigils, the various rewards from Helltides and whatever else.
D4 Beta allows a player to just trade gold and give to another players for free … Definitely not account bound. I hope Blizz will change this
Somone care to explain this to me ?
Doesn’t want gold buyable to stop bots
wants item free trade so that the bots can farm those and sell on black market just like D2
and the tiered system is preventing an economy that will bring in the bots and black market
Then its a problem.
If gold is useful, & gold can be freely pass. then it’s a competitive edge & leads to issues.
Someone care to explain to Steve that you won’t stop bots period.
I want gold to be account bound so that you’re responsible for your own respecs. So that people can’t buy it and short cut others in the process.
I want free item trade because it has kept D2 alive for 20 years, I want free item trade because it keeps POE going. It creates a living economy in the game and makes the gear chase exciting.
That wasn’t the question
There is NO free item trade, it’s called a black market where you buy for cash, which I said, so it isn’t free trade
This is D3 don’t care about POE
POE does that stand for Piece Of Excrement
How are you stopping the Bots if they are going to be used to collect items to sell for cash, Thats why D3 had bots to start with to collect gear to sell for cash
What gear chase???
Buyer runs bot 24/7 to collect gear to put on black market
new player goes to black market to buy items
So, when does the gear chase start let alone get exciting when you just bought for cash everything you need
Hate to say I told you so. Welp.
I honestly just assumed gold would not be tradeable. Does the entirety of Blizzard dev team not see how things like this are an issue?
I have trouble believing no one mentioned this. Why would they leave in any way to p2w or empower black market trading websites like D2JSP.
Clearly you don’t play D2 at all, nor do you understand where most of the inspiration for D4 is coming from. With the rest of your comments I will end this discussion, because your lack of comprehension & knowledge on the subject hurts my head.
Account-bound, no, but character-bound yes. I dislike the exploit of using one powerful character to automagic the baseline of another, infinitely. They should all begin equal and have to struggle/gain their rewards separately.
Bots are a non-concern. Leaderboards are as well.
A game with unique challenges is.
As a general rule I don’t think they should make design decisions based around if people might cheat with it not. People are going to cheat either way, and the solution to cheaters is effective anti-cheat software and banning them.
Being able to buy/sell crafting materials for gold is one of the few things that might actually make their proposed trading system worth using.
Does not apply to black market trades though, no system would know if your in game trade was a part of a trade with actual money offplatform.
Sure but if botting was actually addressed in any meaningful way, that’d already be a blow to any black markets on top of the fact that their limited trade system means that you can’t just buy your way to the top anyway because the best gear will be bind on pickup.
There are plenty of arguments for and against trading, but I find the idea that we need to remove it entirely because some people will cheat with it to make about as much sense as saying we need to remove any semblance of a gear grind because it’ll encourage people to bot.
The solution to cheating is not “punish innocent players by removing features”.
Trading brings nothing of gameplay value to the table though. The only people that tend to be staunch proponents of it are the people that makes/made actual money from the practice.
And by “trading” I mean free trade, a system like D3 has is good.
100% agreed.
Dont hurt the gameplay for legal players, in your hunt for cheaters, pirates etc. Goes for botting, offline modes and all that.
Still, the problem with trading is not the cheaters, they are mostly just a byproduct.
Even if there were no cheaters, no botting, no third party trade sites etc. trading should still not be a feature in Diablo imo.
