Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary are presented as 3 totally different places in Diablo Lore. So how is it that we can travel from Heaven to Hell. They said we would be going to Hell in D4. Does Sacturary function as some type of bridge between Heaven and Hell. Do we just open a mystical gate and poof we are now in hell.
Portals. As we saw in Diablo 3, powerful beings, like Prime Evil Diablo, can open portals, or hell rifts that link Heaven directly with Hell to allow demonic minions to enter into Heaven.
Yes and no. Sanctuary, while connected (in some way) to both Heaven and Hell, isn’t the only way or link to travel between Heaven and Hell. There exists(ed) many worlds and realms within the Diablo lore, some of which are connected to both Heaven and Hell. One such example is the Battlefields of Eternity, where pandemonium dwells.
That’s probably how we’d have to enter Hell prior to Diablo 1. However, with the amount of corruption that now befalls Sanctuary. Portals aren’t exactly necessary for us to enter Hell from Sanctuary, as there are plenty of areas of Sanctuary that’s directly connected to Hell. For example, in Diablo 3 act 3, we traveled into Hell by entering Arreat’s crater, which was somewhat corrupted and morphed by Azmodan’s power.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprise if we do enter Hell via a portal.
Between realms there’s the void, where Lillith was bannished. Demons can be summoned through rituals, and with enough power angels can also open gates and portals. Places that are allready highly corrupted are easier for demons to pierce through the void and take phisical form. Also they can possess others in spirit form, and when they accumulated enough power through tormenting the host, they can again take up a physical form.
There shure are portals, that are sealed behind gates and doors. Or by structures, deep in the earth, ancient and forgoten.
Elevators would work too.
3 Buttons, 1, 0 and -1.
Tsk, tsk must I explain everything…
One easy way: die.
It has always worked for Dante, Constantine, Lobo, Spawn, Ghost Rider…
