I mean, half a year has passed, and this can be done like in 5 minutes.
Yes please, bring it already.
Blizzard please make a D4 forums!
D4 forums will launch when D4 launches, no sooner, no later.
We don’t need big D4 forum with 10 subforums now. Just add 1 more subforum to the present one and name it smth like “Diablo 4 Discussion”. This is very easy to do so.
Sadly, it won’t happen for quite some time.
I hope they do it soon. It organizes the content better for everyone.
D4 forums should at least be up and running for beta testers, maybe even earlier for alpha testers. It will then be open for anyone who purchases on or after launch.
They could also remove some of the other subforums that are hardly ever used .
probably not going to have D4 forums until there is a Beta. How about having a D2 forums first. And no they don’t already. Classic is not a D2 only forums.
So people cannot go to the “D2 only” forum and talk smack, the same way the D2 players have done on the D3 forum?
My guess is once beta launches
Yes, that is likely. I don’t expect anything before then.
I am guessing you are complaining without actually looking at the forum options.
The title of the forum is literally Diablo II General Discussion.

There is even a specific one for Diablo I if you prefer.

You mean like this one?

I wonder why. 1 min, couple of clicks in admin panel, and D4 subforum is there. This will just make D4 discussions easier to track and again easier for D3 players to discuss their game.
Several things:
- Staffing! They won’t be setting it up until they have dedicated staffing to track D4 input and engagements. Right now we have a new CM Lead who has hired the first new CM. We have a LOT more staff to go.
- More Resources! The Moderation team covers ALL the Blizzard forums which means hundreds, once you count all the sub forums. Adding more workload is a real consideration.
- Tasking resources. There is only one Web team for all of Blizzard. They don’t get tasked with projects like that until the rest of the pieces are in place. They are busy.
- More Tasking. Art assets need to be produced and made. Those won’t be added to the Art Team’s work load until the game is closer to completion and the assets are finalized. Don’t want to be misleading by showing stuff that won’t happen as main forum/website art assets.
So, once the put together the full Game portal for D4, one of those portions will be forums. Until then, we cope as is and they skim here for input. We don’t even have a Diablo Immortal Portal and Forum yet, and that one is closer to release than D4.
Why not just remove some of the sub forums that are seldom used? With a new game on the horizon I would think a forum for that game is appropriate. Some people on the D3 forum are already providing outstanding feedback. Once you look past the D3 is trash and D4 is just D3.5 comments.
Again, I’m talking about just 1 more subforum on D3 forum. No resources needed at all. I’d say even less, so moderators don’t have to check if this is the right topic in the right subforum or not. The number of topics and stuff posted won’t increase as well. I’d say, it will decrease as people won’t copy each other topics on D4.
In a billion $ company like ActiBlizzard every single thing that’s done needs to justify its cost. Yes, it could take any one of us like 20 minutes to put up a fully functioning forum using the existing architecture and 5 minutes in photoshop, and probably even assign an MVP to mod it for free. But that’s just not how things are done anymore.
I do agree with that. If the number of engagements and traffic there is low enough, just ditch them, or combine them into a single forum that does multiple things.
Your opinion, my opinion, etc. - don’t really count. Of course a new forum is appropriate. However, that won’t happen until the main game page for Diablo 4 is ready - typically around the Alpha or Beta stage of the game. This is simply how Blizzard handles game releases and the associated web assets.
Ok, that would not increase work load much, but they really don’t want a specific D4 forum yet, especially hidden under the D3 Game portal.
When they are ready to really take dedicated feedback, they will stand up the D4 portal along with the forum. We are not even at Alpha right now - we are years away.
