Please include the Druids unique class mechanic in the next blog update.
- At least some of us would like to know what it is.
While you’re at it what is the Druids 4th companion skill?
- Wolves, 2. Ravens, 3. Vine Creeper, 4. ? ? ?
Please include the Druids unique class mechanic in the next blog update.
While you’re at it what is the Druids 4th companion skill?
If the Druid’s unique class system provides the Druid with a spirit companion that can improve the Druid’s summoning capabilities and prolong the Druid’s transformation duration (among some other things), then that’d be great imo.
i did that but i got nuked on reddit lul
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/d4-druid-spirit-system/34304/2
but these are good points i didnt think about
i think it might just not be too important
if you really confess to play a pure bear you will always be bear in battle because you will only use bear skills and since there are no auto attacks even your free attack will be a bear skill xD
I thought shapeshifting was what they considered to be his unique class mechanic? Granted it may be more in-depth than we realize at the moment.
if that was to be the class mechanic it would need at least some fix passive modifiers that you could manipulate to have SOME player agency
compared to the sorc and the rogue, druid and barb are just a joke right now
Bear? It is sorta obvious choice. Do you think?
I think they left the crumbs, it can be the shape shifting at a fly. Light attacks and werewolf form slashes, heavy mauling attacks and werebear form slams the ground. It’d be just like Barbarian’s arsenal system; both are strength classes. Either I’m making up things or people missed something, I remember Druid system being mentioned somewhere.
I guess I can’t say that’s surprising, as somewhat early on, Blizzard did kind of insinuate that the Druid’s shapeshifting is there class’s unique class system, or at least an aspect that’s on par with the barbarian’s arsenal system:
“The overall feedback from the team was that even at these early stages, Diablo IV is very fun to play. The classes especially are going down a promising path that we’re excited about. We’re taking cues from what makes the Barbarian’s Arsenal system or the Druid’s shapeshifting feel special and looking for ways to apply similar innovations to all classes (more on this in a future update).”
(The above passage taken from last year’s June Quarterly Update.)
Honestly, I actually wouldn’t be expecting a Druid class system, if it weren’t for the September Quarterly update (which revealed the Sorceress’s enchantment system) that followed after the June one, which stated the following:
"We’ve been testing this class mechanic for a while now, and the team feedback has been really positive. This new system now empowers you to make some interesting choices to strategize around which skills you would want to slot in as an Enchantment, as you won’t be able to put one skill in both places.
We are also exploring a Druid-specific class mechanic as well, and we’ll have more information on that to share in the future."
Believe it or not, but being able to stay transformed in combat (by spamming the shapeshifting skills), is precisely the reason why I think it should also be allowed outside of combat. I just can’t see a reason as to why a person can’t stay transformed longer outside of battle, when they can precisely do so in battle.
From my understanding, while the Druid’s ability to shapeshift is indeed a unique aspect of the class, it’s not the Druid’s unique class system, or at least not the entirety of it. Also, from what we’ve seen thus far, the class systems usually can affect all skills and/or builds, if we’re to go off of that, then the Druid’s shapeshifting ability would fall short as it wouldn’t affect Druid’s who opt for either pure summoner (admittedly probably not possible atm) or elemental builds.
it wasnt mentioned
people just assume its already the shapeshifting
other people assume its the summoning
none actually knows anything xD
afaik every single skill is a shapeshifting skill
but i understand you wanna stay bear outside of battle however a bear cant talk to people or ride a horse so its kinda pointless
I couldn’t care less about trying to ride a horse or chat with npcs as a bear. My point is that if it’s pointless, then I see no reason not to allow it. If a person wants to run around Sanctuary as a wolf or bear, then by all means allow them to go for it. Of course, if they attempt to ride a horse, then their characters could just shift back into a human before mounting, just as they do when they attempt to cast a elemental skill.
well i agree
for the roleplay aspect by all means increase the duration
i guess they did already increase it from the first alpha
Druid is one of the classes that is available at the alpha demo back at 2019. It’s been two years. I have no idea why people demand answers on its class specific power. You can clearly see Druid changing werewolf form in that video.
That’s why I never answered to people asking for Druid’s powers as I imagined they be asking for more complex things. Nobody knows what sorta skill tree a Druid or another class might end up, but a simple web search tells you alot about what you need to know.
we know he can transform
but that wasnt really communicated as some special system
its just something that happens when you use your skills
period^^
So you don’t use your skills while Barbarian utilizing arsenal system or Sorceress don’t use skills when she flicks active skills as passive? I sure don’t get the terms you use.
At the moment both the Sorceress and Rogue class mechanics are far more interesting than that of the Barbarian.
The armory system just allows the Barb to have two one-handed and two two-handed weapons equipped. You can assign a specific weapon to a skill and some skills require a certain type of weapon to use. That’s it.
It’s pretty lame.
Instead of skills needing a certain type of weapon, it’d be far more interesting if the effect of each ability differed by weapon type.
with the sorc you can actually alter your character and make a build using ur active skills transforming them into passive skills
with the rogue you can choose 1 of 3 special mechanics that (except for shadow realm) work outside of your usual skill routine
barb and druid is just
“you do skill, something happens”
at least with the barb you could choose to allocate some skills to 1 of a few weapon types
while the druid can basically just…put skills in his bar…yea…system much
you clearly understand what you are talking about
The Barbarian has the Arsenal System (4 weapons).
The Sorceress has the Enchantment System (3 active skills can be used as passives).
The Rogue has the Class Specialization (Shadow Realm, Combo Points, and Exploit Weakness).
The Druid ?
I am just guessing, but the Q4 blog post showed some Barb skills with Arsenal UI on them. It kinda seemed like the system was quite different from what has been announced previously. “Arsenal Selection”. At least there is hope ^^
Personally hoping that all the barbs skills have some differences to them, depending on which weapon type you use. With the ability to choose, for each skill, to automatically switch to your secondary weapon set, to get the weapon effect you want on each skill.
But yeah, it would be really sad if shapeshifting is the druids system. Doesn’t make any sense. No more than saying fire spells was the sorceress system.
Anyway, I am not particularly interested in Blizzard spending Blog space on what those class systems are. The interesting information is that class systems is a thing, and an example (of which we already have 2½).
They should tell us about how systems work, not nitty gritty details about every skill etc. the game has to offer.
Same reason it would be more fun if they didnt announce the last class before release. Which of course is never going to happen.
The whole temporary shapeshifting is a silly idea imo.
I mean, I dont mind it being the default state. But you should be able to build into perma-shapeshifts of all the different kinds.
We don’t know yet.
The armory system just allows the Barb to have two one-handed and two two-handed weapons equipped.
You do get two extra weapon legendary affixes, plus a considerable stat boost, no?
We don’t know yet.
I know that is why I said they should include it in the next blog.
