What is the best way to get up to date with the current state of this game (skill system, loot system, attributes etc.) as far as it is known? Preferably without having to read up lots and lots of different resources.
The information i collected back after the reveal video came out is (hopefully) heavily outdated.
Not too much has changed, but here are some things I remember that have changed since Blizzcon 2019:
the UI is not different and is in the middle of the lower end of the screen
there have been some changes to itemization:
Ancient Items have been removed from D4
the art of items in the inventory has changed (slightly)
something called ADA Power (Angelic/Demonic/Ancestral Power) has been added as a replacement for the Attribute System. APA Power are basically affixes that can roll on items.
the inventory screen has been adjusted.
I don’t know if this is new information or not, I have to double check this, but I think to remember that
a consumable has been/will be added, that adds a legendary power to a rare item
^^ This info might have been something that has been mentioned at Blizzcon, or it might have been stated later, dunno, so take that with a grain of salt.
Anyway, here are the Quarterly Developer Updates for D4 and a Blog Post from David Kim, if you wanna have a deeper look without having to read too much (they are neither too short, nor too long imo):
“We are also excited to see the range of topics you want to hear about. Based on your response so far, we think talent trees are by far what you’re the most eager to discuss, so we’ll make sure to queue that up for our very next blog.”
Some type of Blizzcon virtual event is on the horizon. Hopefully with some good updates.
I really hope that at the virtual event they reveal at least one of the two new classes. I would also like to see some new game play footage. A few panels with more Q&As would be great.
