***Update 1: I will begin adding community suggestions below:
Here’s a summary of what is out there for classes for D4. Please let me know your realistic (i.e grounded in Diablo lore) class wish list. This isn’t a spot to just list out world of Warcraft classes.
Classes confirmed at Blizzcon 2019:
- Barbarian (melee)
- Druid (hybrid)
- Sorcerer (caster)
Classes speculated in highly accurate reddit diablo IV leak from a Blizzard Insider and concept art.
- Amazon / Hunter (range)
- Paladin (holy melee)
- Necromancer (ranged / available in future expansion not at launch )
Wish list for future expansions based on past games:
- Assassin (melee / traps)
- Monk (melee/ holy)
- Witch Doctor (ranged pets)
Community Wish list / Predictions
- Rogue (ranged/melee)
- Warrior / warmaster (sword and board melee bruiser)
- Cannibal (frenzy melee)
- Alchemist (caster traps bombs)
- Iron wolf hunter (ranged)
- Warmaster (ranged/melee hybrid)
- Cleric (damage holy variety not healing focused)
- Warlock / dark mage / Acolyte / Occultist (dot based caster).
- New Horadrim Society Mage (caster).
- Shadowknight/Deathknight ( tank summoner)
- Shaman / Elementalist (elemental magic)
- Classless Nephalem (non-specialist class)

Almost certain we will have Paladin archetype and physical ranged archetype at release. Will guarantee the Necro to be next with a hybrid ranged/melee Assassin to follow or possibly together in the first expansion. After that it’s a crapshoot. I would love to see all the classes return with some new ones mixed in.
Since groups are not required and neither are group roles, I could imagine a cleric class being similar to an armored discipline priest where doing damage can shield and heal the character and party members.

All I want is a ranged class (Amazon/Hunter/Rogue) that isn’t a red-headed stepchild.
Cannibal or Occultist
In fact, HOPED that the last cannibal update was a playable class instead of a monster tbh. Would rather have some anti-hero type classes than “shining” things in the game
Also had an “Alchemist” class post on the forum, kinda like that idea as well, a summoner without the “Zoo” but based around 1 hard/er-hitting assist
Rogue and Warrior will return .)
How about something new, and not just the same old recycled classes.
This is because there is nothing new left. Every so called “new” class is just an old reskinned one.

Think outside of the box. What if one of the classes was from the demonic side. Or, a repentant cultist we already ran into one in the game. How about a Cleric or a member of the new horadrim? Or, as one of the Iron Wolves. The current lore does not tell us everything about everybody. The concept art for the “Hunter” looked very good, an earth based Ranger type. Not like the current DH with spandex and high heels. They can come up with totally new classes that we have never seen.
Think outside of the box. How all these so called new classes will be different in, the very least, skills, not even speaking about gameplay?
Okay, cleric can be something new here, as a purely support “ahimsa” character with a bunch of different healing spells, as it is in classic DnD. But they won’t bring him in, because Diablo must have an option to do it all solo.
They said they wanted feedback from the community, “nothing new left” does not help.
You’ve been around long enough. The general Blizzard community believe saying you game is crap fix it is legitimate feedback. So did you really expect anything more?

There won’t be a pure support class ever. This is not a game being designed around the need for one, nor would many want to play one that can’t be viable alone. Then if you make them viable in the damage category, thenthey are straight OP with healing as well. Then you nerf the healing and it becomes not really a support anymore.
The Cleric does not really need to be a pure support class, he/she can be a destroyer of the “undead.” The necromancer uses the dead, the Cleric can turn or destroy them. The undead may be incorporeal like ghosts, or corporeal like vampires and zombies. They have so many ways to go with new classes. He/she can be a melee class that has the ability to obliterate cretin evil force just by looking at them (much more powerful than the Paladin/Crusader aura or the Monks mantras).

“Add something new” won’t help either.
My constructive feedback is that bringing back old classes and old skills and spells is actually good. And keep them as they were (that is what D4 devs are doing, and they are doing it right!). Better than reskinning things and putting “NEW!” stamp, while basically it is just that old stuff we’ve seen already. If they gonna make something really new - well, if it fits the lore and general Diablo concept/world nicely, I’m for it. But I don’t like when they take from amazon and assassin and call it “super duper new Demon Hunter” or take everything from pala and name it “The Crusader” or take from necro and druid and call it “Witch Doctor”. I’m for less classes, but with wider specialities, rather than adding a couple of new skills, stealing some from other, and call it “This is our Next New Class”.

This is exactly what would happen.

I think the witch class could be good. We’ve already seen it in the game world so nothing new, but it hasn’t been playable before.
I think bringing back the rouges from d1 and d2 could be worthwhile as well.
LOL it was 50% accurate at best, and most of the accurate stuff was far too easy to guess without knowing a damn thing.
PS: the biggest blunder of that so-called leak: NO D2R.

Not to mention the hub town of Tristram, which, we won’t be visiting that area of Sanctuary. The combo system, which isn’t a thing. Oh and Blizzard clearly had time to make two separate demos in a short period of time one complete with areas that will not even be in game at launch.
Most of that stuff from the reddit could have easily been guessed just from reading these forums and paying attention to desires for D3 and D4.
