D3 Pylon 'shadow clones'

Why do you ruin the game like this? I want to kill things.

Game sets the mobs up, then the game destroys the mobs, while we watch.

This is so lame and fail. No clue what’s going on when it’s up, stuff just disappears, and not from anything I did.

You set them up, then kill them. Why don’t you just play the game for us, then we can do nothing but watch.

Please remove the idiocy, game ruining concept.

Doubt they’ll just up and remove a main season gimmick. Think you’re stuck with it.

It is literally impossible to please everyone. I suppose we eventually had to run into somebody who doesn’t like it.

You have the best username on the forum.

Simple solution. Don’t hit shrines/pylons, then you can kill everything yourself. At least you have a quality follower that is a walking, talking buff that definitely won’t steal any of your kills.

Even better idea. Run a higher GR level so the clones don’t actually kill the mobs.

Honestly really weird take.

Gotta say as a wizard, I love the chaos. Wife rolled a necro, it gets wild when we pop em together.

I see what you did there

Once I saw what they do, I avoid the pylons. Clicked on one by accident, so just stood there until it went away. Such a game ruining concept. Give the Followers a new special ability each season, don’t ruin the game with gimmicks.

K.I.S.S.

Not gonna be a fun season for me this time around. Good luck out there.

Don’t remember what it’s called, but where the transmog NPC was on level 1, that huge talent changing thang, is of zero interest to me. Never bother with it.

Not a min maxer, just like to play the game, in it’s basic design, without all the gimmicks.

4th slot on Qube, more sillyness not interested in.

Thanks for all you do… please stay to the basics, simple ‘flair’ for season changes.

There’s been no patches in years and there will be no more patches. I’m sure they’ll spin up a dev team for D3 to address 1 person’s complaint about a seasonal gimmick though right?

What you need is non-season, no gimmicks, no themes.

You’re a devil in disguise.

That’s what i am doing this season… leveling up 30 leg gems to at least 125 atm for augmenting my Necro.

Honestly, if i wasn’t just doing GRs with ample gold for empowering, i wouldn’t be doing this… lack of altar and fissures makes farming feels bad. I have done God knows how many GRs and not a single primal.

Another thing that’s been mentioned before, is that around GR 90 the clones don’t do much damage. In a GR 92 with a power pylon and Blighter the clone took a good while to kill the champion pack and even longer to kill Blighter. I just ran around in circles without doing anything, though maybe the Frailty Aura helped a bit. The clones may kill some trash more easily at these levels, but it’s not significant damage.

I had 12 WoW accounts all maxed out. When WoD was released, I dropped 11 accounts instantly. I have one original Hotmail account from 1985. Then xbox came out, I purchased it and used my Hotmail account. Realized blizz won’t merge the to (at the time) so used my ONE blizz account. One for the PC, one for the Xbox. Blizz sucks so much these days… Don’t play the PC version of D3 anymore, xbox version more easier to play with. Run in FEAR, such a sneaky b*stard I am.

To all that spoke to my problem with this Season, I will play the non-Seasonal game and wait for the next one, as others do when they don’t like a season gimmick.

 thank you for your responses

All season themes can be seen as gimmicks. Even so the Altar and the Visions of Enmity.
I guess you’ll skip season 41 too which will be the Pandemonium kill streak.

… it’s not that I’m a big fan of the clones. They do add a lot of clutter and commotion to the screen.

*update* I’m having fun finally.

My Son stopped by to visit, said give me that controller, after watching me struggle and complain …

He created a Necromancer - proceeded to kick butt, for about 2 days, unlocked most everything, and I got to see how it all works. I’m stuck with Wizards this go around, Hydra and Tornadoes.

My fav class was Witch Doctor - I find them to be +glass -cannon, so sick and tired of going into a rift and get one shot. Zero fun working up follower to try to make it tougher, and finally, just gave up, zero fun.

Necro, like Witch Doctor, very fast button presses to maintain shields with fast CDs to stay alive, to hyper …

Hunters - super fast, super tough, just super duper, way to HYPER for my old bones to keep up with, sorta like a spinning Barbarion, but so much prettier and fluid and did I mention FAST? ;p

Don’t like any of the melee classes, never have, barbarion, monk and the tank one.

So I got used to the Pylons, I noticed that it’s still a Pylon hunting game. I’ve watched my son take his spinning hunter thru entire maps looking for the Pylons, then return to previous map to kill things faster.

Once, he went thru all the maps, found one pylon, then left the rift, laughing all the way… it can expose the entire map so quickly,

Purpose of this note is to let you all know, I’ve made it to GR 110, on two toons, and now it’s stuck grinding

Gems are at 100, GR 110 is the max I can do, Ancient Legendaries in all the gear slots, some augmented doing Screams to 150 ish, but only getting the 125 aug gems. So disappointing to see I got to 150, but only awarded 125s.

I do regulars and an occasional GRift, do the dailies on all 5 maps, turn it in, Alter is completed all the way down to the Set Pages or something, so done with Alter to .

I’m starting to find it boring, so take it in small windows of time, mostly due to I can’t level gems higher, can’t do higher GRifts. feels all bogged down. Don’t feel it’s worth the effort, 110s take me 12-13 mins, can do 105s in about 5-7 mins, FUN is at 100 tho !

Thanks for listening to an old phart, be 75 in 3.5 months, if I can make it …

Played wow for 30 years, it is now a full blown dumpster fire with the lame forced UI they came up with. Was playing classic_era, then they forced the dumb EDIT MODE, much worse the RIFTS version on us, making it 1) unplayable to me and 2) it’s not the version I BOUGHT, so not the same game, zero fun, subs cancelled.

I feel so bad for all the GREAT GAME DEVs at many different companies that created some of the BEST GAMES ever, then got bought up, then disbanded. Less choices, more SUBSCRIPTIONS. The new devs are destroying all the good games, not do anything to fix em, do things to them that ruin it… sad times

We had some of the BEST gaming and choices over the past 30 years, the last 10 years, fewer choices, less quality, more eye candy, combat is a joke, and for all that, you get subscriptions.

It’s over anyway, with what is/has/will happen in the very near future in Real Life, be lucky if we can still play a year from now. nor will we want to, fighting for survival will become full time and real, no more time for fantasy…

Good luck to you all - was a GREAT 30 years for a retired ole phart.

125 is max for the whispers so you can stop at wave 125 or 126 (and they can be upgraded later on in greater rifts). If you explore a map too fast without killing/making progress then pylons may not show up. Some builds have fewer keypresses than others. (Like Tal Rasha meteor where some skills last 10 minutes). Some builds’ squishiness is also dependent on how you play them. Played and set up the “right” way they can be extremely tough.

I am genuinely happy for you that you’re having fun now.

Moreso that it was your son that brought you into that enjoyment. We don’t all get to do that.
