It would have been nice if D3 got more polygons in its 3d models before the end.
I prefer the D3 aesthetic over the D4 one. But now when looking at D3 its hard not to see how low poly the character models are.
Would have been a nice upgrade to have gotten before D4.

I love the comic book D3 graphics and style.

Comic book?
It’s more painterly than comic in my opinion.

If they had plans for spending that amount of resources I rather they put them towards the technical issues rather than the aesthetic.

What technical issues are those?
Excessive server lag would be at the top of the list.
Stash limit reached is another.

Do you play a lot of hardcore?
I would gladly downgrade D3 models into some tiny 2D sprite abomination from the old gaming console days if in exchange I received a good customizable UI.
Fancy graphics are essentially non-existent on my totem pole of ARPG gaming priorities.
Ah.
i’m the opposite. I could write my own spreadsheet calculator that takes input from my keyboard and translates it into number output.
The graphics are what make that fun. Without something enjoyable to look at, I could just go read books and play tabletop games.

I would love an option to enable/disable the Darkening of Tristram pixelation for the entire game.
I can see the nostalgic fun of that…
but those older game do still exist. I fired up D2 on my 20+ year old computer just the other day.
Nope, that’s a large part of why I don’t though, that aside it’s always annoying to have to play in a deliberate way as to not make the servers throw a fit.
To be fair, network latency is a problem for most online games. The only real fix is to make the game not require always online while in solo play mode.
But sure, just like my desire for more polygons in D3 models is a pipedream, so too would “fixing” network latency.
Lets throw both into the “if only we got one more update patch” daydream.
That’s true, that’s not what I’m referring to though. I’m talking about the issue with the servers buckling under to many calculations in rapid succession, which is quite easy to do by pulling to many monsters that survive long enough for AD to shine.
Yeah, that’s seems like the only realistic end.
If we’re doing wishlists, I’d like offline play, controller support and LAN before the game shuts down in a decade or two. I’m sure whatever devs still support the game would like that as much as we would, but it comes down to if someone can be convinced to set aside the resources to do it.
At least we’ll always have the console versions…

I never thought I’d say it, but I much prefer D3’s graphics over D4.
D4 has a very desaturated color palette that people are praising as “dark”. I digress from that common praise - the game looks bland and homogenized.
D3 has a very vibrant, saturated color palette that I enjoy.
The polygon count of character models is quite frankly at the bottom of the totem pole of improvements I would like to see in this game.
Since others have mentioned their biggest wish, my biggest wish for this game is that they’d add 1 more end game activity that I call a “Guardian Rift” - an endless dungeon of ever increasing difficulty. I detailed it out here: New Rift Type - "Guardian Rift"
IMO that would be the crème de la crème. It would add that much more end game as opposed to just running GR150s.
