I’ll watch a guy try to hit a 98 MPH fastball 450 feet because I could never do that. I do not need to watch a guy speed run GR110s because I can do that.
Not crazy, just boring as hell. If you are into watching golf, horseshoes, and guys speed run GR110s, good for you. There is a niche for everyone.

By abandoning the D3 formula and not making the same mistake again on D4. Try to forget about the hurt from Diablo 3. This game is best left as a casual console game.
As we’ve seen with RoS, D3 is still D3. It’s still a brain dead, boring game with 6 skills. You can’t put a bow on a turd and sell it as something people want to interact with which is why nobody is watching the turd.
You mean the hurt a few D2 faithful felt compared to the enjoyment 10s of millions felt as a result of what they did to D3? I consider that a win for the franchise.

Again, twitch views mean nothing at the end of a season at 3AM when the thread was created. You all seemed to dismiss the twitch count when a few seasons ago this stupid debate popped up, and D3 had 3x the streamers and 5x the viewers of D2.
So which is it?

I only play D3 when I want something to just turn off my brain and mindlessly go through, usually while watching something on TV.
I just cannot imagine wanting to watch someone else play this game. It would put me to sleep.
Do people even watch games on twitch these days? I thought it was just a gateway to exploit thirsty young men with credit cards and move them along to even more seedy subscription sites?

I’ve played D3 since launch, I’ve never once watched a stream of it. Or any other game for that matter. Hell, the only game related videos I watch is if I have an issue and can’t find a written solution but there are in video form.

I didn’t even have a WD at the time he said I shouldn’t be giving advice about them.
He also criticised that I had only 1% of my total play time on one.
So I made a WD and got it to GR135 in about a week.
He’s left that thread alone since then.
As I said in that thread, he’s long on claims, but very short on proof. Like usual.

Just to keep track on the numbers, right now D3 has 353 viewers, D2 has 64, D2R has 725.
if they’d give us druid it’d be 150k viewers.

Itemization would need a rework too. Not to bring it back to 10+ affixes or anything, that’s fair if some players don’t like that, but the items are made for the game to quantify which is better (“mainstat”), under the premise that whenever you might think you have two items to choose from, there is inevitably a “correct and only choice” between your items and the affixes only serve to obfuscate that info. Basically they set up items to be ranked sequentially. Yeah it would all have to be upended.
