My in-game play froze and a message to run a scan and fix it. Now it looks like the scan added an update and none of them will complete the process. I receive only “Witting on another update”
No tech wiz myself. If the waiting doesn’t go anywhere an uninstall and reinstall could be a solution.
You could try deleting/removing the D3 prefs from the d3 folder first and try and start the game and see if it helps before reinstall.
This is not really coherent. What software asked for a scan? Battle net launcher client? Your anti-virus? Something else? Have you got any malware? Have you tried disabling your anti-virus? When Battle net applications get interrupted by something else, they don’t take it kindly. Anything that tries to update will get throttled by Battle net application and thrive for more Random Access Memory, which old systems usually don’t have. That will cause both applications to freeze and will not give you any space to move.
Battle net Launcher don’t really call for an update in the middle of the game anymore. At least I have never encountered that in the recent months. After a small change in the client, it usually warn updates before hand or schedule them for next run, so you never get interrupted. You can also set Battle net client to shut itself down after game starts running. If it’s a scan as you emphasized, then it should be your anti-virus scheduling one and trying to update its outdated database.
At any case, if you are using Windows PC, just press Ctrl, Alt and Delete buttons together to call Task Manager and be sure you have “Always on Top” checked from its Settings tab. That will ensure that you can have some control the next time you encounter it and can force a shut down for unnecessary tasks from there.
If you can type it in little more detail, people who are tech-savvy may be able to help better than me. Because in this state, it’s really hard to decipher anything to make a comment about your issue or the main cause itself.
I will follow the simple solutions…
good job and i’m glad with what you have made
