Hi I’ve been playing the game on Switch which has been fun but now that I’ve beat the game and have found enough good gear to do some high end greater rifts 75+, I’m not sure it will be fun to just keep doing rifts for the purpose of better gear and doing higher rifts. It would be great if they added more purpose to the end game like allowing a play through at the same difficulty as the highest GR you’ve beaten. They should have a reward for this like a primal, tons of death breaths, ancient items. I felt when I played the game it was too easy because I kept it on normal. I didn’t get to experience a fun play through where I needed to upgrade items and skills to progress in the game. I only have to do that now to bear higher GRs. Please add more end game.
You can do a GR75 with no Legendary items…that really is not end game…GR150 is max.
The game is designed to grind for gear and T16 rift farming, bounties, Challenge Rifts and Greater Rifts are 4 mechanics designed for end game.
D3 is finished in terms of development and they are developing D4 thus there will be no fundamental change to game mechanics like more end game features.
Why not play Seasonal and compete on leaderboards versus friends etc. The Seasonal Journey is good to do as well as try to get all transmogs, cosmetics and all ingame rewards and achievements.
Think of D3 as a sport. You don’t just pick up a basketball, make one basket and walk away like “yeah, I finished the game of basketball”. You could do that and no one will care. Or, you could keep playing, try different tactics, develop new skills etc, get actually good and make a few friends along the way. Same principle applies to Diablo 3. It’s your call.
listen to the lobster, he know’s whats up.
I wondered that too when I’d completed the campaign.
I could imagine how you might be left with that experience playing through on normal. When I played through I pushed the difficulty up as high as I could survive and it was pretty fun, it felt a little like a solo raid, if you’ve ever done any raid content in other games you may know what I mean.
You could still do this with a new character and not twink it to enjoy the experience with a totally different playstyle.
For my part, after the first campaign / 70 character, I mucked around a bit leveling all the classes to see their capabilities… tried a bit of bounties, campaign, adventure mode.
I started to see quite an elegant design in the game in the GR system being open ended alongside other features that I thought all worked quite nicely together. The challenge it presents is quite good.
I’m still trying different builds and classes and just seeing how high they can be pushed in Non-season play. It’s fun for me and there’s other ways to play too… seasons, grouping, etc.
Anyway, good luck with it. Hope you find something you like.
