D3 cross save for pc & consoles

Having cross save on the new D2 is a great feature. Please add this to D3.

I’d like to second this request. If you can do it for D2R you should be able to for D3 also.

In the D2R beta I was switching back and forth from PC to Xbox

Then we will have players on PC with p20k, and weapons that do 1 million sheet damage, and 6 sockets on all their gear. A lot of cheating on console. They would have to clean all that crap up first before they start allowing cross-saves on PC.

AFAIK cross progress only works for the online characters, not the locally saved characters. This is enabled due to the fact that the online aspect is global now across all regions. Offline single player saves won’t transfer except from PS4 to PS5 or XB1 to XSeX/S via their paid cloud sync feature.

No. Bots and cheats bad enough online. Offline only gets worse.

Even if D2R support cross platform saves, it doesn’t support cross platform play. You can not play with PC players when you’re playing D2R from your console. So there are still restrictions in the system. Diablo 2 resurrected still work semi-offline on PC just like consoles, that’s why it’s allowed for cross platform save.

Same thing wouldn’t apply for Diablo 3 where PC version has always online DRM and console versions allow semi-offline model. If such thing were to apply it’d be only limited to your seasonal characters. Considering mechanics and movement in console version of D3 (roll mechanic) is different than PC version, I don’t think it will apply at the future at all.

I’d really like to play my Switch/XBOX characters on PC…:frowning:

As long as consoles have offline saves for D3, cross saves will never happen. Consoles are plagued by modded saves and they are not welcome on online environment.

That’s D3, not D2R. D2R cross progression is for online characters only and those characters are stored in the cloud, not on the console’s drive. Offline characters cannot be transferred between PC and console or via console to console, especially PS5 where local saves cannot be backed up, only synced to the cloud, and if you’re doing that, the cloud save always takes precedent over the local save in order to prevent duping. But either way, since multiplayer requires online characters in D2R, this is a moot point.

I support this! I understand it’s not cross platform, it’s essentially a different game, offering dodge, while PC version doesn’t. But cross save should be an option for D3. Quick! Before POE2 comes out and probably have this.
