I’m sure this question has been asked or addressed somewhere.
I was wondering when D4 comes out, all the stuff we’ve done for D3 like cosmic wings, all our pets, portraits, pennants and now ethereal xmogs. Will all this stuff carry over to D4, I hope so, if not what’s the point of doing all this stuff
not only D3 but barbie online and mario karts too
It has, quite a number of times in fact. That said, it’s safe to say that nearly everything obtainable in Diablo 3 (be it in-game items or cosmetics) won’t carry over to Diablo 4. The most that you can expect is for Blizzard to offer a cosmetic reward to Diablo 4 players who own a Diablo 3 license (and vice versa).
More or less the same point of doing it before D4 was announced.

The question doesn’t make any sense, and if you gave it some thought,
you wouldn’t of asked.
D4 might not have wings or pets, so how do you expect that to work.
This happens to almost all games, partly do to money,
but mostly, do to ridiculous hassle of implementing the idea.

Did anything carry over from D1 and D2 to D3?. No it did not.

I only asked because the OW devs said that all the skins and progress from OW1 will carry over to 2. Was hoping D4 would’ve done the same.
Not all of us know every single thing about all the games we play that’s why we ask questions…But I understand how ppl would think this is a troll question since most questions are trolling ones.
OW and OW2 are pretry much the same game, same graphics, so it’s easier. But D4 will have different graphics, different athmosphere so it would realy look stupid if you think about it.
Why does it need to carry over in order to have a point? Are they not available to use in the current game? Cause then it has a point.
Friend, the stuff you do in D3 is from D3. D4 is D4. One game has nothing to do with another (in this obvious sense). So all the work you went to to get these cosmetics on D3 stays on D3. I say this because soon someone appears saying that they also want their achievements in the game transported to D4 because they had a lot of work to get them.
D4 may not even have cosmetics.
In that case, carryover would be impossible.
And, if it does, they are very likely “improved.” It is possible they are experimenting with them now, in D3, to see how well they are received. Assuming this, some may seem to continue but they would have factually not.
Nothing will carry over, but you might be able to purchase the same cosmetic in the $$ D4 $$ store…
Well, you surely heard something like ‘‘it’s not the destination, it’s the journey’’.
Some players prefer competition, others will play to chill out, or achievement, … so many reasons here. But before everything else it’s for entertainment.
Personally, regarding video games, I don’t invest a single second in something in which I don’t have fun, so yes I worked my way on leaderboards (a little) and I met few players which are going to stay on my f-list until the battle.net ceases to exit.
To play the game and have fun playing. If your not having fun, why are you even playing. in 99% of games, NOTHING carries forward into sequels. The best we will most likely get which has been stated will prob be some achievement/cosmetic for owning D3, nothing more.
The already confirmed cosmetics one of the items you can purchase in the fields of hatred with the shards of hatred will be cosmetics (not power).
I have no Hope in diablo4.in fact am only intrested in diablo2 remaster, but i Will only buy It after 3 ir maybe 6 months release. I dont Trust blizzard after they totaly destroy lovely warcraft3.
Diablo4 from what i watched read and observe, is almost same “philisophy” of d3.
Since am not allowed to chosses my stats points where to add, i know It broken, not intrested in cosmetics at ALL, was hoping to get a good game, perfect content, but ALL i Saw is garbage atm…
