Did they make any announcement when Ladder will start? do you think it will start the day its released?

Not to my knowledge
.

Why would ladder not start on the release date?

Due to the fact that they do not want a game-breaking bug introduced into ladders. That is why patches proceed season in D3 to catch weirdness.

Then they had better have their sht together following the beta… There is zero point releasing the game if there is a potential for a bug…
Players wont stick around if they have to reset everything following the release, case in point, W3R. Lost its entire following due to a joke of a launch with no ladder and a million bugs and issues.

Considering that the open beta is in August, there will only be at most 7 weeks or so from open beta start to D2R release.

With any software there is potential for a bug. It’s just the business.

They’ll do their best, and I’ll be patient, there are usually some hiccups along the way.
If it’s gamebreaking obviously that will be a huge let down, but it happens, and games do recover.

I think D2R will be great . Still think they’re making a few huge mistakes but I’ll try to give feedback in beta and hopefully there will be some dialogue from devs.

Considering the kind of ladder D2 has, where a good portion of the game in LoD is locked behind it, I highly doubt they would not have ladder on release. Now, if they decided to release the game’s current ladder mode as the standard mode and later add in a new seasonal ladder mode, that would make sense. However, we know that they are doing the game as it currently functions, for better or for worse (I really hate the content locks, as it makes ladder really the only “choice” to play).
