I see no reason why gold should remain capped.

I think you should move your thread to the D2R forums…
- Click the blue pencil icon under your post, to enter Edit mode.
- At the top-right of the Edit window, click the drop-down list and choose the right sub-forum.
- Click Save and the opening post (and any replies) will be moved there.

I get why people say this, but since the D2R forums are restricted to people who bought the game already, not everyone can post there.
I understand why Blizzard has these rules, but you shouldn’t have to pre-order the game to be able to post.
Likewise, people who bought the console versions of D3 should be allowed to post on the main board, not be relegated to a board that’s mostly ignored.

They are already doing changes. They’re doing auto pickup. They’re doing shared stash. Those are changes.
I don’t think that changes that pertain solely to quality of life will be controversial. The gold cap is an arbitrary threshold that serves no perceivable purpose except wasting gold and removing it objectively hurts no one. Except if there will be a gold-based economy. In which case gold MUST be destroyed. It’s an economic necessity to prevent the hyperinflation displayed by the DIII Auction House.

i think it´s typical activision-blizzard to have pay-to-opinion on their coming game…
and i don´t see the reason for a cap.
As far as I’m aware, yes, you do.
Same with the regular D2 forums I think.
The D2 gold cap seems like a relevant part of the game imo. Should not be removed.
It serves a similar purpose to the bloodshard cap.
Though due to shared stash, it might be gone

I don’t see the big deal about the gold cap in D2. Even when I played I heavily back in the day, the only time I genuinely hit the gold cap was the very early levels. Doesn’t take long for it to get so high I never even came close.
Then again, I gambled a lot in D2…
Anyways, I don’t see any reason to remove it. D2 gold didn’t have a lot of worth besides gambling after you beat Normal anyways. You’d always have enough for repairs and potions. Why worry about it now?
I pre-purchased D2R on day 1 and I’m still unable to post there.
I like the gold cap in D2. It’s immersive. There’s only so many stacks of gold a person can acquire and reasonably store it. It reminds me of playing D&D as a kid and imagining my character carrying around sacks full of coins.

Yeah but carrying around a full back pack of gear and armor worhout any emcumberance doesn’t?
Being silly aside, I think if the gold cap is removed that just makes gear acquisition faster through gambling. Can you trade items for gold? If so, then faster that way too. Which, is part of the allure in D2 I’m told.

You might contact CS therefore. When I prepurchased the game I could post there pretty much instantly.
The reason I can see why they are capping the gold is to prevent the players to accumulate a lot of gold (probably trillion) so the players can keep resurrecting the mercenary over and over without worrying “oh no, I used all the golds in the stash”. 
With auto-gold-pickup in D2R, even if the Merc is dying every other minute, you’ll still be maxing out gold constantly. The only reason I’ve ever not been near cap is because most of the time I just couldn’t be bothered picking gold up.
i wouldnt mind them at least increasing the cap in stash, removing it entirely would be cool too. would make gambling a lot easier.
Honestly, I don’t care too much one way or the other, but personally, I never had an issue with the cap. You don’t obtain gold fast enough to where the cap actually matters once you hit a certain level.
