They included quality of life changes like a much bigger shared-stash and auto gold pick-up. (you can toggle the auto pick up feature)
They are also letting you toggle between the new and old version so all current mods will be usable. however they wont allow modding of D2R itself for “security reasons”.
The shared stash is a nice change that honestly doesn’t actually change how the game plays since most of us with tons of characters just had mules anyway.
I’m seeing an internet connection listed as a requirement for the game so it sounds like they’re going always online, which is rather disappointing. I guess that’s about the one thing that can actually stop modding, but people who want to play modded Diablo 2 will just play the original anyway.
It is funny to me after being told by several die hard D2 fans “the game could never work on console, it’s too complex” that they’re releasing this on console(and from the screenshots the PC version has the original keybind system so they’re not changing it just to suit consoles).
So it has Ladders and is on Console so the big question is will D2:R have online saves for Ladders and avoid the exploiting that offline saves brings on Console?
