@Activision Management,
@Blizzard Management,
@Bobby Kotic,
@J. Allen Brack:
Please leave D2 and LoD alone. Please do not remaster, remake, reforge, or upgrade to HD. Leave it. You’ve done quite enough with SC:Remaster and War3:Reforged.
You have Immortal and D4 on your plate. Please focus on those projects.
@Diablo_Player_Community:
I know some of you have yearned for an upgrade to one of the greatest ARPGs. Please do not ask Blizzard to fulfill this desire. Look at War3:Reforged. Its just not worth the risk of D2-LoD being messed with. I know this goes against the grain for many and for that I apologize. Push for the features you want in D4 (and immortal if your into that).

Meh, the risk to D2 would be minimal.
Remaster D2 and keep the old servers online, then there is no risk at all.

Look how well remastering War 3 worked out for original War3

Blizzard doesn’t know how not to screw things up anymore.

If they are remastering Diablo 2, I will be extremely skeptical before purchasing it.
I would expect the following from a remaster before purchasing:
- Updated user interface, even if it’s just upscaled 4x3 with side black bars. Drop the 3DFX/Glide interface for OpenGL.
- A simple and long lasting solution to the botting problem. (evolving CAPTCHAs every now and then would work well.)
- More leniency for some restrictable offenses… Example: Instead of smacking a 2 week suspension for VPN usage, disconnect them immediately with a clear message why, and maybe a 30 minute restriction.
I really hope they don’t butcher the release like they did with War3…
How about, no to what you’re saying. I support D2 Resurrected.
The beautiful thing is, you can speak with your wallet. Just do not purchase it. I, on the other hand, will be purchasing it.
It is also being made by another developer and isn’t using Blizzard’s resources, at least not in the traditional sense.
Please, continue with D2 Resurrected!

No please do actually…
It will be the final nail in the coffin for this garbage company really.
If they botch Diablo II resurrected and it releases before Diablo IV that’s all the information I’ll need. It will give all of us players with actual taste a good idea of what to expect with D4’s state once it arrives and we can steer clear of it.
I actually hope they do remaster Diablo II and it fails miserably, that way it will truly solidify the quality and craftsmanship of old Blizzard. I’ll finally be able to write these clowns off as one of the biggest artistic and corporate failures of the 21st century.
Everything they touch turns to garbage so why not just destroy Diablo II as well? They’ve already killed every other game in every other franchise Blizzard North has nurtured and built from the ground up, may as well go for broke.

and also why do WC3 pros and old timers are still playing original War3 instead of Reforged in their channels.
Still worth the try. Easy not to buy it afterward.
It should of course not affect the original.

Blizzard aren’t going to do something if they don’t think there will be a profit in it
Whats the point of making something if you aren’t going to buy it
and how many players aren’t going to touch it because of the mess they made of WC3:Reforged

If they make a good Remaster people might buy it. If they make a bad one people might not (though honestly, the difference might not be huge).
It is not complicated.
I would assume Blizzard still believe they are capable of making products people want to buy, or they might as well give up and close down.
WC3R might very likely reduce sales of future Blizzard games. But that is how it is. For Blizzard there is only one thing they can do; move forward.
In that case ignore D2 because that’s going backwards and just do D4 the way forward

Making a D2 Remaster is by definition not moving backward.
Blizzard is capable enough to make both that and D4. Though the rumor is that Blizzard isn’t the one making it.
You are of course allowed to not want a D2 Remaster.

I an fine with a remaster if is NO CHANGES!!!

If there are no changes, why don’t you just play the original?
Blizzard will probably remove the original. I would love some changes to make D2 more akin to D1, but changes are more likely to make D2 more D3 like…
It should just be a graphical update.
With a few changes imo, like:
- Larger and shared stash (you can achieve that with mules anyway, so convenience more than a gameplay change)
- stacking potions, runes, gems. Yes, that is a gameplay change. But I can’t see the problem with it.
- remove the deletion of inactive online accounts
There might be other small relevant changes.

D2 remaster may just simply be a rumor. D4 I believe is thier main focus.
It may be just a fan trying to remaster D2 to earn browning points to get a foot in the door for a Blizzard software engineering career.
D2 would need a hell of a lot more than new graphics to be playable. It’s a waste of time to try and “remaster” (aka resprite) it
D2 is playable right here and now. It doesn’t need any fundamental changes.
