I have only seen the chest on the north or west side of the Paths of the Drowned WP. Can it spawn on the south or east side?

Would like to cut down some search time.

There’s no general direction from the waypoint it can spawn. Yes, it can spawn south or east as well.

It’s a hassle but just scout the entire zone.

There can only be one “event” in the paths of the drowned. If you find another “event,” you can safely leave that map and restart the game.

I’ll tack onto this: it’s one of the large tile events in Paths of the Drowned. Only a single large tile event can spawn per map. And there’s always one of the large tile events on the map. So search until you find a large tile event, and if it’s not Cursed Peat, reload. Also, you don’t have to search all the way to the edges, since you know a large tile won’t spawn right on the edge of the map. Seriously?
First check the Act 5 bounties to see any of these events are listed:
The Burning Man
Lord of Fools
Lord of the Hill
Pillar of the Faithless.
Leave if any of these are listed.

No listed bounties or any other bounties that call for you to kill a named monster or clear the Perilous Cave are worth checking.

Do not search the entire map. Do a big circle around the WP as those events and the Cursed Peet tend to spawn near it. They can spawn anywhere, but it’s a big map and checking more games is going to give you a higher chance of finding the Cursed Peet.
You can check around the WP in 5 games in the time it takes you to check the entire map in one game.

If you find it at a lower paragon make a TP at the chest. Then use the world maps to find an Enchanted and a Frenzied Shrine. Map back to town and TP back to the chest.

Or, you can also check Act 1- Cursed Bellows (Halls of Agony Level 3).

I was also able to get the achievement there.

Thanks BIG time. That does cut down on search time. Finally found the chest and have done/assisted several conquests this season. As usual the chest is always on west/north side. Seems odd to me, just an RNG thing I guess.

You can check around the WP in 5 games in the time it takes you to check the entire map in one game.

And you can probably make 50 games in that time and just check for the bounty itself. So I’d just keep remaking games.

That’s a good tip about Mara’s ammy.
I just found the chest in 2 consecutive games (no bounties) by running the WP. I think from my experience it is way more common than the bounty. In fact I have done the conquest probably 10 times this season and not one time was it a bounty.
BTW In regards to my OP, I did find it on the south side of the WP today.
